Biden was speaking at NAACP’s annual dinner in Detroit
During a recent speech Joe Biden claimed he was vice president during the pandemic and that he was sent to Detroit by Barack Obama to “help fix it.”
Biden was speaking at the NAACP annual dinner in Detroit on Sunday when he made the remarks.
“When I was vice president, things were kind of bad during the pandemic,” Biden said from the podium, with Detroit’s mayor sitting next to him.
“And what happened was, Barack said to me, ‘Go to Detroit and help fix it!” and well, the poor mayor he spent more time with me than he ever thought he was going to have to.”
Biden also used his speech to bash Donald Trump, telling the audience, “You’re the reason Donald Trump is the defeated former president. And you’re the reason Trump is going to be a loser again.”
He went on to say that Donald Trump is “trying to make the country forget just how dark and unsettling things were when he was president. But we’ll never forget.”
Biden even suggested that Trump was “so screwy” because he “injected bleach” during the pandemic.
