Judge orders release of UMass student accused of Tesla firebombing so he can continue sex change

A 19-year-old Kansas City man was
arrested in Massachusetts last month in connection with the March 17 firebombing of the Missouri Tesla Center.

Owen McIntire, a University of Massachusetts physics student who returned home for spring break, allegedly tossed a pair of Molotov cocktails into the Kansas City dealership, damaging a pair of charging stations and two Cybertrucks, each valued at over $105,000. McIntire was
slapped with federal criminal charges: one count of unlawful possession of an unregistered destructive device and one count of malicious damage by fire of any property used in interstate commerce.

Despite protest from attorneys for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri, a
progressive Boston-based judge granted McIntire’s petition for release from federal custody on April 24, partly to ensure that he could continue his sex change.

‘This care, along with mental health support, is integral to his wellbeing.’

Government attorneys argued for keeping McIntire locked up ahead of his trial, citing a statutory presumption of detention for terrorism-related offenses and the public risk he might pose,
reported KMBC-TV.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Jessica Hedges of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts appears, however, to have been alternately persuaded by the claims of McIntire’s lawyers — that he is a mentally fragile pillar of the community who desperately needs to be home to continue his so-called “gender-affirming medical care.”

Court records reviewed by KMBC claim the alleged firebomber has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, gender dysphoria, depression, and ADHD — a supposed disorder experts
have indicated may not have any basis in biology.

“He also receives gender-affirming medical care, which began in March of this year and is likely to be interrupted or terminated entirely if he remains in pretrial detention,” states a court filing from Hedges. “This care, along with mental health support, is integral to his wellbeing. By moving back home with his parents, he will have access to the care providers who are familiar with him and his specific needs.”

‘You will spend decades behind bars.’

Hedges reportedly agreed to release McIntire on the conditions that he stay at his parents’ home with electronic monitoring and remain within Wyandotte and Johnson counties.

According to a law enforcement affidavit filed in the case, a Kansas City Missouri Police Department officer saw billowing smoke coming from a Cybertruck parked outside the Tesla dealership around 11:16 p.m. on March 17. The officer found an unbroken Molotov cocktail near the burning vehicle.

As the officer was unable to extinguish the flames, the blaze spread to a second Cybertruck. The Kansas City Fire Department ultimately subdued the inferno.

On the basis of surveillance footage, witness testimony, and DNA evidence, police identified McIntire as their prime suspect.

Investigators linked a vehicle observed parking nearby the Tesla dealership before the incident then departing afterward to McIntire, then confirmed on the basis of his cellular phone’s historical GPS location, flight records, social media posts, and other information that he was indeed in the Kansas City area at the time.

“Let me be extremely clear to anyone who still wants to firebomb a Tesla property: you will not evade us,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said following McIntire’s arrest earlier this month. “You will be arrested. You will be prosecuted. You will spend decades behind bars. It is not worth it.”

McIntire is scheduled to appear in federal court on Thursday.

Vance casts tiebreaking Senate vote after Republicans join Democrats to tank Trump’s tariffs

The Senate failed to pass a resolution Wednesday night that would have halted President Donald Trump’s tariffs after Vice President JD Vance cast the tiebreaking vote.

Three Republicans, Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, and Rand Paul of Kentucky, bucked their party and sided with 46 Democrats in favor of passing the resolution. The remaining 49 Republicans voted against it, resulting in a 49-49 tie that Vance broke.

Murkowski and Paul, who have defied their party in the past, argued that Trump did not have the constitutional authority to impose these tariffs.

‘Trump’s ongoing trade war has been a focal point for his critics over the last few weeks.’

“Bilateral trade deficits do not constitute a national emergency, nor do they qualify as an ‘unusual and extraordinary’ circumstance needed to unlock authorities under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act,” Murkowski said in a statement. “We have a lot more work to do to reclaim Congress’s constitutional power over tariffs, but this resolution is a step in the right direction.”

“The Constitution clearly states that Congress, not the president, has the power of the purse,” Paul said in a statement. “All new taxes (which is what a tariff is) are supposed to originate in the House of Representatives before going to the Senate for approval.”

Trump’s ongoing trade war has been a focal point for his critics over the last few weeks. With market uncertainty and ongoing trade negotiations, the GDP experienced a contraction in the first quarter.

Although the latest GDP report may have some warning signs on its face, former Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve Richard Clarida argued that the figures were distorted by tariffs, and the administration pointed to several positive economic indicators in the report.

“It’s no surprise the leftovers of Biden’s economic disaster have been a drag on economic growth, but the underlying numbers tell the real story of the strong momentum President Trump is delivering,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement Wednesday.

“Robust core GDP, the highest gross domestic investment in four years, job growth, and trillions of dollars in new investments secured by President Trump are fueling an economic boom and setting the stage for unprecedented growth as President Trump ushers in the new golden age,” Leavitt said.

The next American revolution is happening — will you be part of it?

These are remarks adapted from the closing keynote at the Heritage Foundation’s Annual Leadership Conference, which took place earlier in April in Naples, Florida.

Conservatives have been given a generational opportunity — a once-in-a-lifetime chance to shift our country’s trajectory back toward people and values that Washington has for too long left behind. The five values that Ronald Reagan espoused when he won the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in 1980 are “family, work, neighborhood, peace, and freedom.” More than any time since Reagan, those values are making a comeback. “Rejoice in hope,” St. Paul tells us in his letter to the Romans. How could we not?

This is our moment to truly shape America’s future.

But this should be our rallying cry, not a victory lap.

Because the left’s counter-fight is coming, and our response will determine whether last November was the high-water mark of the new conservative movement or simply the first triumph in America’s greatest comeback — whether we squander this moment in history, or whether we seize it.

Conservatives have the opportunity, the mandate, and the plans to rise to the occasion. The only question is whether, in these turbulent days, we have the vision to put those plans into action and the grit to see them through despite doubts and adversity.

Mandates from the past

When I think about how the conservative movement should respond to this moment, I look for lessons from our past. And lately, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about one of my heroes from the founding era: Patrick Henry.

Two hundred and fifty years ago last month, Henry stood up at St. John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia, and delivered one of the great speeches in American history. Everyone remembers its most famous line: “Give me liberty or give me death.” That one always hits home.

But another sequence in that speech resonates even more specifically with us now. Henry’s speech was not just a call to revolution. In his mind, the colonies had already passed that point. “The war is actually begun,” he said, whether Americans realized it or not. He was calling for the courage to see it through — to push past fear in the face of a powerful adversary.

“They tell us, sir, that we are weak,” Henry said, “unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger?”

The question still resonates: When shall we be stronger?

Six months from now, when the left throws everything it has in Virginia and New Jersey, or 18 months from now, when we head into the midterms, shall we gather strength while sitting on our hands? Will we stand by as our president weathers a hurricane of criticism? Shall we watch quietly as our majorities in Congress sidestep the most critical issues facing our country? Will we pass by the working families who wait for Washington to deliver them from a woke culture, a weaponized government, and a rigged economy?

Of course not. We have worked too long and too hard to squander this opportunity. Now is the moment conservatives can enact permanent policy change, not just half-a-loaf compromises: rebuild our economy, our military, and our local communities to answer the challenges of the coming generation.

This is our moment — not just to win elections or temporary 51-49 majorities — but to truly shape the future. This is our generation’s shot to secure a new birth of freedom. To write a new chapter in the American story — one that begins with courage and ends with victory.

The left is regrouping

But as extraordinary as this moment is, it will be just as fleeting. If we do not seize it now, it will slip through our fingers and won’t come back for a long time. And what comes next would be worse than anything we have yet endured.

The left hasn’t changed. Leftists may rewrite their talking points, but the writing on their hearts is the same. They’re still elitists who disdain the Constitution, globalists who scorn national sovereignty, and woke theocrats who reject religious liberty, parental rights, moral truth, and scientific fact.

They are already regrouping, re-funding, and reasserting their power. Their victory in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race was not a fluke. They still control the media and elite institutions, and they are going to weaponize both for as long as they can.

That is why conservatives cannot sit back. We must stay in the fight — and open new fronts in it.

Will we rise up?

Two hundred and fifty years later, Americans still face Patrick Henry’s question: When shall we be stronger?

At the Heritage Foundation, we have an answer.

We’ll be stronger every time we stand on principle — and for America and Americans. When we act with the urgency and courage this moment demands, when we realize the future is ours to win or to squander, when we understand that neither the left, China, media, nor any other adversary can defeat us, our only downfall is our own timidity and complacency.

Just consider: What do we think the other side wants us to be doing right now? What do Planned Parenthood, the teachers’ unions, George Soros, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, and MSNBC want us to do right now?

Nothing. They want us complacent, fat, and happy — just like good establishment Republicans. They want us to think the last six months are all we need and all we can hope for. They want us basking in the success of 2024, eating popcorn, and watching Fox News while they storm the field.

Well, I’m sorry to disappoint them.

The Heritage Foundation is not sitting this one out. Donald Trump and JD Vance are not sitting this fight out. And I know you won’t either.

We can’t. The moment is too important. The stakes are too high. Last November’s historic victory was only the beginning. The next chapter in America’s history is ours to write. Whether we fight or not will be our generation’s story — what our children and grandchildren learn about us.

A time to act

I can’t help but think that if Patrick Henry were alive today, he would look at President Trump and his entire administration and be convinced that the American dream is still possible to revitalize. And that dream isn’t just about an idea, as noble as that idea is. It’s about a real place — where you were born and are likely to be buried. It’s a place our children and grandchildren and generations after us — God willing — will be born and buried.

This providential moment we’ve been given to save this republic and revitalize America gives honor to all those who came before us — wherever they were from — who, in their last moments, were as grateful as you and I are to call ourselves Americans.

Justin Trudeau’s own brother says Canada is RUINED

Justin Trudeau’s lineage has long been a topic of debate, as many conspiracy theories have swirled around who his father really is — but who his brother is is not up for debate and neither are his brother’s feelings on Trudeau himself.

His brother, Kyle Kemper, sat down with Alex Stein on “Prime Time with Alex Stein” this January to tell him how he really feels about the former prime minister of Canada.

“In your opinion, did your brother do permanent damage to Canada? Did he really make it a worse place?” Stein asked Kemper.

“Oh, I think so,” Kemper replied. “He was the spokesperson, leading the script, being the lead actor in the, you know, multi-trillion dollars of wealth transfer from sovereign Canadians into moving up the chain.”

“Right at the end of the trucker thing, too, that’s when all of a sudden the Ukraine narrative popped in,” Kemper continued, noting that right after Trudeau froze bank accounts, suspended drivers’ licenses, and even threw some truckers in jail — it was, “Ukraine, we love you.”

“Everybody put a Ukraine flag in your bio, because this is serious. We will stand with you forever,” he mocked.

However, at the time of the interview, right-wing Pierre Poilievre had thrown his hat in the ring to take Trudeau’s spot as prime minister of Canada — but that spot has now been filled by Mark Carney.

But Kemper never had much hope for the country anyway.

“The way that the politics works, it’s literally just, you say ‘up,’ I say ‘down,’ game. It’s literally nonstop in the House of Commons,” Kemper tells Stein. “Nobody answers questions. It is absurd. It is an affront to the intelligence of all Canadians. It is no longer truly representative of it.”

Illegal aliens aren’t just ‘guests’ — they’re future voters

After visiting a nearby resort filled with opulent wokesters, I couldn’t help but notice the signs proclaiming, “Love, not hate, makes America great.” I suspect the signs were meant to remind us of Donald Trump’s supposed nastiness for deporting as many as 50,000 illegal immigrants — most with criminal records. According to the left, such a policy makes Trump a fascist — maybe even the latest incarnation of Hitler.

A “nicer” leader, we’re told, would allow these illegal immigrants — including convicted rapists and other lowlifes — to remain in the country, at least until they exhausted multiple judicial appeals or committed a few more crimes. Why stop there? Let them vote in local elections, receive public assistance, education, and health care. After all, they supposedly enrich our society — or so Democrats insist, as they work tirelessly to provide all these forms of taxpayer-funded hospitality.

When virtue signalers clutch their pearls over Trump’s treatment of ‘nice illegal rapists,’ I have to wonder if they’re playing dumb.

But why did Democratic presidents we’re supposed to venerate — Bill Clinton and Barack Obama — get a free pass for far harsher deportation records? Clinton expelled close to a million illegal aliens with minimal judicial involvement, even boasting about his deportations during his re-election campaign. Obama, the left’s beloved heartthrob, threw out over four million illegal immigrants, aided by Trump’s current border czar Tom Homan, all without major interference from Democratic-appointed judges.

Compared to Clinton and Obama, Trump’s deportation numbers look paltry, especially given the legal and media warfare waged against him.

Even as recently as 2006, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) — now screaming about Trump’s “cruelty” — eagerly pushed for building a border wall. Thirty years ago, few Democratic senators would have voted against it. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), back then, warned against flooding the country with unskilled foreign labor that would hurt America’s most vulnerable workers. Obama himself praised tougher immigration controls. In 2006, Democrats still held some loyalty to their working-class base. They understood that saturating American communities with third world lumpenproletariat — not to mention foreign gangs — would devastate the working class.

That was before Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Pete Buttigieg, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), and Rachel Levine became the faces of the rebranded Democratic Party.

Since then, both national parties have swapped electoral bases. Republicans moved away from country-club elites and realigned with the white — and increasingly Hispanic — working class. Democrats abandoned their traditional blue-collar support to embrace progressive white women, the LGBTQ lobby, government bureaucrats, black militants, and now, the cause of illegal immigrants.

For Democrats, the strategy is simple: expand the non-working-class base. Biden’s administration opened the border to as many as 10 million illegal aliens, and anyone with a functioning brain can see why.

Yet, when virtue signalers clutch their pearls over Trump’s treatment of “nice illegal rapists,” I have to wonder if they’re playing dumb. Do they really not know why their party flooded the country with illegal aliens? Do they honestly think slogans about “love” explain why Democrats fight tooth and nail to keep even convicted criminals from deportation?

Every illegal immigrant represents a potential future Democratic voter. If Trump’s administration was allowed to make moral distinctions among the “undocumented,” Democrats might lose too many future loyalists. Better, from their view, to defend even a wife-beating, MS-13-affiliated “Maryland man” than risk losing tomorrow’s votes.

Perhaps I’m being unfair. Maybe the Democratic cheering squad doesn’t know — or care — how radically its party reversed itself on immigration. Maybe leftists assume their Democratic heroes always held the same radical social views as Tim Walz and Hakeem Jeffries.

Most live in the present, parroting whatever slogans the media and party elites hand them. If journalists and historians hide the truth, these activists show little curiosity to uncover it.

Meanwhile, the media and judicial attacks on Trump’s supposedly “Nazi-like” immigration policies continue to erode public support. Trump now polls negatively even on immigration, the very issue that propelled him into the White House.

If this delusion holds, Democrats may succeed in securing nearly all of their future voters.

Is this the end of Canada?

Mark Carney didn’t even have a seat in Canada’s House of Commons when he replaced Justin Trudeau as prime minister and leader of the Liberal Party in March.

At the time, it seemed his tenure would be a short one. With the federal election just seven weeks away, the Liberals were trailing the Conservative Party by seven points, 20 to 27. Most assumed that the untested Carney would lose to veteran Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre.

In fact, as recently as January, Poilievre’s party was expected to win the largest majority in Canada’s history.

Instead, when the polls closed Monday, the Conservatives had captured a meager 144 seats, and Poilievre was sent packing after 20 years in Parliament.

The separatist Bloc Quebecois got 23 seats, while the socialist New Democrats got seven and the Green Party one.

And the Liberals? 168 seats, enough to win them a minority government — with Carney at the helm.

What happened? In a word: Trump.

The American president’s trademark bluster proved the gift that kept on giving for Carney and his party. Trump may not really have wanted to annex Canada and make it the “51st state,” but many Canadians took him at his word. Even for those who didn’t, the crippling tariffs Trump levied against the country were threatening enough.

So Carney effectively ran against Trump instead of Poilievre, whom he successfully branded as Canada’s answer to the 47th (and 45th) president.

In the process, the former economic adviser for Trudeau somehow convinced voters to see him as an outsider and an agent of change. Never mind that his party had virtually destroyed the economy in a decade of rule — doubling the national debt, creating a vicious affordable housing crisis, and punishing Canadians with a carbon tax that kept rising.

Carney wisely put the carbon tax on hold just before he called an election, but did not eradicate it.

Carney also bears responsibility for some of his government’s radical environmental policies, notably net zero energy use. It’s an onerous standard he wants to enforce for both domestic and foreign companies doing business in Canada with punishing taxes and tariffs.

It could kill a Canadian economy that is already one of the weakest in the G20. Businesses are expected to move south or anywhere they won’t be affected by the idiocy of green energy policies.

Carney also wants to ban the gas-powered car and introduce a home equity tax that would devastate retirees and hurt homeowners.

None of this hampered Carney’s rise in the polls. Nor did the allegations of his murky business practices.

What about his leadership of Glasgow Financial Alliance, an environmental lobby that was cited by the House Judiciary Committee as a “climate cartel” because it aggressively worked to force banks and corporations to adopt net zero policies?

Or his public support for the Chinese yuan to replace the U.S. dollar as the global currency?

Or his stint as chairman of Brookfield Asset Management, during which the company avoided paying taxes by funneling its profits through tax havens like Bermuda and the Cayman Islands?

Nobody cared. Just call him Teflon Mark.

Even in his victory speech Monday night, Carney couldn’t resist moaning about his best frenemy.

“As I’ve been warned, America wants our land, our resources, our water, our country. But these are not idle threats. President Trump is trying to break us so that America can own us. That will never, that will never ever happen.”

Considering that Carney and Trump have had business dealings in the past — and that the president actually endorsed Carney on three separate occasions — it’s advisable to take this anti-Trump rhetoric with a grain of salt.

Carney’s rise has led to renewed interest in separation in Alberta, with independence gaining more popular support than ever.

Alberta knows Carney will suppress the oil and gas sector even more than Trudeau — while at the same time expecting it to dole out money for other less prosperous provinces.

If Alberta leaves, it could be the beginning of the end of Canada — but that just might be Carney’s goal. His globalist ties to the World Economic Forum and the United Nations are well known.

The Conservatives are hoping that the Liberal minority government will fall within the year before Carney has a chance to do too much damage.

As for Poilievre, he put on a brave face in his Monday night concession speech.

“Now my message to Canadians, the promise that was made to me and to all of you is that anybody from anywhere could achieve anything; that through hard work, you could get a great life, you have a nice, affordable home on a safe street,” he told a the crowd of supporters.

“My purpose in politics is and will continue to be to restore that promise.”

Inside Trump’s plan to make the FBI great again

From its founding more than a century ago, the FBI has been regarded as the premier law enforcement agency in the world. But during my time as an acting section chief at FBI headquarters, I saw firsthand how the bureau lost its way over the past four years, weaponizing against law-abiding American citizens solely based on their politics.

Now, with President Donald Trump’s return to the White House and a new FBI director in charge, the bureau has a chance to reclaim its legacy. Here’s how.

Kash Patel’s focus on getting back to basics and focusing on the mission is exactly what the FBI needs.

Under Joe Biden, FBI leadership turned the bureau into a political weapon, sacrificing public safety in the process. Top officials redirected personnel and resources away from genuine threats, including foreign terrorism and Chinese espionage, and toward prosecuting Jan. 6 defendants.

While violent crime surged across the country, the FBI prioritized ideological targets. Agents scrutinized traditional Catholic services, harassed parents who spoke out at local school board meetings, and carried out Attorney General Merrick Garland’s unprecedented order to raid President Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago.

No more waste

Most FBI employees serve the public with integrity. But Director Kash Patel needs to act swiftly to fire the bad actors who damaged the bureau’s credibility in recent years. He should also dismiss any career personnel who resist or slow-roll President Trump’s tough-on-crime agenda.

The Department of Government Efficiency is reviewing every agency to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse — and it must make a long stop at the Hoover Building. Patel should cut unnecessary travel and rein in wasteful spending, especially inflated payments to confidential human sources.

The bureau — or the DOGE — should also conduct a full audit of contracts with outside organizations, just as other agencies have already begun to do.

Get out of DC

But more than just overspending on unnecessary travel, the FBI can be reorganized to promote more efficiency — not just for the sake of saving taxpayer dollars, but for the sake of ensuring speed and effectiveness in enforcing the law. For instance, the Bureau could easily do without the intelligence branch and merge its personnel and mission into other FBI units.

The FBI is not an intelligence agency. It is, rather, a law enforcement agency that uses intelligence. The bureau should not try to be a domestic version of the CIA.

Any reorganization should also move FBI headquarters out of Washington, D.C. Right now, about one-third of FBI personnel work in the Washington area. That’s a terrible idea.

Threats to our country are not concentrated in and around the District of Columbia. FBI headquarters should be moved to Huntsville, Alabama, Quantico, Virginia, or to other established FBI locations outside the Beltway. This would save taxpayer money, refresh the culture at the bureau, and enhance the quality of life for FBI personnel and their families.

Revive merit-based hiring

For future hiring and recruitment, Patel should ensure the end of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at the bureau and reinstate merit-based hiring. The bureau’s DEI office was shut down after President Trump’s election in November, but Patel must make sure that the diversity scourge does not return under a different name.

We need the best and the brightest at the FBI — regardless of what they look like — so that they can protect every American of every race, color, and creed.

Director Patel has already brought about a sea change at the bureau. Applications for new agents are breaking records, signaling renewed public trust in the bureau. a The FBI has already apprehended three of the top 10 most wanted criminals in just three months — after finding zero in total last year. The FBI has also brought to justice one of the terrorists who killed 13 Americans during President Biden’s abandonment of Afghanistan.

These results show that Patel’s focus on getting back to basics and focusing on the mission is exactly what the FBI needs.

The road ahead

More work remains — not just over the next four years, but well beyond. Long-term reform requires congressional action. Lawmakers must strengthen legal penalties for FBI employees who abuse their positions, whether for personal gain or to serve a political agenda.

Congress also has a duty to impose serious oversight. Without it, the bureau will repeat the abuses of the recent past.

The FBI remains one of America’s most powerful institutions, with a long record of service and sacrifice. With strong leadership and sound policy, it can rebuild trust — and become better than ever.

Student who punched teacher in face in viral video, 2 other brawling students shouldn’t be ‘criminalized’: Superintendent

The Georgia high school student who punched a teacher in the face last week — an incident that was captured on a viral cellphone video — as well as two other brawling students seen in the clip should not be “criminalized,” the school district superintendent said Tuesday.

DeKalb County School District Superintendent Devon Horton said each of the three students who were charged with battery and disrupting public school has a story and there is “more to it than meets the eye,” Decaturish reported.

‘This was not as cut and dry as the video showed.’

“I am going to be honest. From what I’ve known as a superintendent regarding the situation, I do not support them being criminalized. I do not,” Horton told listeners at a news conference. “Every student deserves an opportunity … and there are some factors that we are aware of that could have prevented this, and so we’re looking into that right now.”

The fight took place last Tuesday at Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Lithonia, which is about 20 minutes southeast of Atlanta.

What happened prior to the on-camera violence isn’t clear, but the video begins with a male wearing a dark hoodie running up to a teacher wearing a jacket and tie and punching him in the face. As you might expect, onlookers in the hallway let out an approving holler in unison.

A security guard who’s right next to the teacher puts the attacker in a bear hug and attempts to move him away, but the angry teacher hits his attacker with a punch of his own, which the crowd doesn’t like one bit.

With that, two other males — one wearing a gray hoodie and the other wearing a white hoodie — go after the teacher and knock him to the floor. By this point, the frenzied students are behaving as if they’re watching a UFC match.

The teacher gets up again, and there’s a little bit of pushing and shoving, but that’s where the 45-second clip ends. You can view it here.

The district said in a statement that several students reportedly initiated the physical fight with the teacher, WXIA-TV reported. The teacher in question is on paid administrative leave, Decaturish said.

Horton said at least one of the students involved in the fight had been at the school for less than a month.

“To be honest, this was not as cut and dry as the video showed,” Horton added during the news conference, according to Decaturish. “There were some things that, as a system, that we could have done better.”

Horton said challenges and stressors that students and teachers face in and out of school combine to create “the perfect storm for an incident like that,” the outlet added.

Decaturish said Horton and other officials brought up a number of recently implemented restorative practice programs in the district that they say have resulted in better attendance and graduation rates, as well as fewer disciplinary incidents and suspensions at the high school.

You can view a video here showing school district officials discussing the incident at the news conference.

New York Times mocked over report discovering Christians wearing crosses for necklaces

The New York Times reported that the prevalence of Christian crosses as necklaces had grown in recent months, and many on social media responded with baffled mockery.

The Times report cited many different examples of prominent figures wearing crosses in public and added a history of the meaning of the cross, even prior to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

‘Good editing means avoiding publishing things which will embarrass your publication and everybody who works there.’

“Lately, the cross necklaces flash across cable news screens several times a week, suspended between the collarbones of Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, and Attorney General Pam Bondi,” reads the article by Misty White Sidell.

Not surprisingly, the Times got slapped with brutal ridicule online.

“This is real. People wear crosses and the NYT is ON IT,” responded commentator Mary Katharine Ham.

“So new that everybody’s nana has worn one since forever… Also every Italian guy I know,” replied education activist Erika Sanzi.

“The fact that this piece got through the Times’s editorial process without anyone saying, ‘um … guys?’ shows exactly why the press always seems so clueless about the country it is supposed to cover,” said Charles C.W. Cooke of National Review.

“When it comes to investigative reporting can anything top the New York Times discovery that people wear crosses around their necks,” asked former columnist Patrick Goldstein.

“The author probably doesn’t know a single person who wears one, which is why it’s treated as a novelty,” said Tom Bevan of RealClearPolitics.

“Good editing means avoiding publishing things which will embarrass your publication and everybody who works there,” said another critic.

“In certain bizarrely isolated contexts, public displays of religiosity (even something as common as cross necklaces) are so *uncommon* that they become successful pitches for New York Times stories,” responded professor Charlie Camosy.

While the Times has been ridiculed many times over the years, one article explaining that women experience “poop shame” in the workplace was especially celebrated in 2019.

Erase the Bible, lose the West — and that’s the point

The cultural revolution of the 1960s undermined every pillar of American identity, and public religion was no exception. Supreme Court rulings in 1962 and 1963 struck down state-led prayer and mandatory scripture reading in public schools. While these decisions didn’t explicitly ban biblical education as literature or cultural instruction, they effectively removed it from the classroom. Over time, institutional pressure and administrative caution eliminated nearly all engagement with the Bible in the public square.

As large-scale immigration introduced greater religious diversity, demands for a more “neutral” education further pushed cultural Christianity into the realm of the taboo. Christmas and Easter became “winter” and “spring” break. Schools reduced biblical references to passing mentions — if they acknowledged them at all. The result: a rootless, amnesiac society cut off from the spiritual and cultural traditions that once inspired greatness.

By removing the religion that shaped our national character, we’ve lost the ability to understand or transmit our own culture. This is no accident.

Humans remain narrative creatures. Even in an age obsessed with data and reason, we understand ourselves through stories. Every civilization has a set of core narratives that define its identity. These stories echo through its literature, art, science, and daily language. People imitate the archetypes they inherit — knowingly or not—so the stories a culture preserves shape its citizens’ behavior, values, and imagination.

For ancient Greece and Rome, Homer’s “Iliad” served as a civilizational anchor. For Western Christendom, that role belonged to the Bible.

As with all enduring societies, the Western canon both reflected and created its civilization. The canon includes the foundational works every educated citizen was once expected to know, at least in outline: “The Divine Comedy,” “Paradise Lost,” the plays of Shakespeare. But none of these are truly intelligible without biblical knowledge. These literary masterpieces do more than quote scripture — they shape theology itself, popularizing specific interpretations of Christian doctrine.

Art doesn’t just reflect a culture; it defines it.

The stories are everywhere: David and Goliath, Samson and Delilah, Judas the betrayer, the unwelcome prophet, the good Samaritan, the sacrificial Christ. These archetypes saturate Western literature. Even works not explicitly Christian — like Shakespeare’s plays — reference scripture on nearly every page. And for directly inspired texts like Dante’s “Inferno,” biblical illiteracy makes the work incomprehensible.

Yet American legal doctrine now treats biblical ignorance as a virtue. Misreadings of the First Amendment have transformed cultural illiteracy into a legal mandate. Forget the Bible’s spiritual value — removing it from schools broke the chain of cultural transmission.

As a former public school history teacher, I saw this biblical and cultural illiteracy firsthand. I routinely had to explain the story of David and Goliath or the birth of Christ to 16-year-olds — just so they could understand the references in a historical speech or literary text. Students weren’t rejecting scripture. They had simply never heard it before.

Shakespeare and Dante still haunt English literature curricula, but only as lifeless relics. These works already challenge students. Strip out the biblical framework, and they become unreadable. That’s one reason woke activists now demand their removal altogether. Too white. Too Christian. Too patriarchal. But the push to obliterate the canon also masks a deeper failure: Today’s teachers often find these works unteachable — because students lack the cultural foundation to make sense of them.

Mass immigration has intensified the demand for multiculturalism and secularization. As the public square fills with Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and atheists, American institutions have stripped out the Christianity that once defined them. But by removing the religion that shaped our national character, we’ve lost the ability to understand or transmit our own culture.

This is no accident. It’s the only outcome multiculturalism has ever produced.

America now suffers from a full-blown identity crisis. If we hope to recover a coherent national identity, we must start with the Bible. Conservatives and Christians who want to revive the American tradition must demand — unapologetically — the return of scripture and prayer to public life.

These practices weren’t controversial for most of our history. The Constitution didn’t suddenly change because the left launched a cultural revolution. Students — even those who are secular or from foreign faiths — still need biblical literacy to understand the civilization they live in and the culture they’re supposedly assimilating into.

A general knowledge of the Bible is indispensable. Without it, American education remains incomplete — and a unified national culture remains impossible.

‘Newsom vs. Newsom’: Liz Wheeler EXPOSES Gavin’s moderate makeover scam

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) is salivating at the thought of being the next president of the United States. Nothing proves this more than his new podcast, “This Is Gavin Newsom,” which he’s using to rebrand himself as more of a moderate after years of taking the most radically left positions on every single issue.

Liz Wheeler, however, isn’t falling for his ruse. That’s why she created a new segment on “The Liz Wheeler Show” called Newsom vs. Newsom, in which she exposes his political chess game.

“Gavin Newsom wants to be president so bad that he needs to radically remake who he is in order to appeal to the American people because right now, he’s one of the most unappealing politicians out there,” says Liz.

His podcast, she argues, is just example after example of him “[being] chummy with a person from the right” in an effort to “portray himself as relatable” and willing “to see the other side’s point of view.”

The reason he chose a podcast to make this pseudo-transition to the center is “to collect the sound bites of him saying these ostensibly centrist things” so that when “he actually launches his bid for president … he is going to have an absolute library of sound bites that he can trot out any time one of us says, ‘Actually, Gavin Newsom is one of the most radical governors and politicians in the entire country,”’ Liz explains.

For example, on his debut episode of “This Is Gavin Newsom,” he interviewed none other than Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk. During the conversation, Newsom agreed that biological males competing in women’s sports is unfair.

“It’s an issue of fairness. I completely agree with you on that,” he told Kirk, before adding, “There’s also a humility and a grace that these poor people are more likely to commit suicide, have anxiety and depression, and the way that people talk down to vulnerable communities is an issue that I have a hard time with.”

This is exactly the kind of “sound bite” Liz is talking about. Newsom will use this clip in the future to appear moderate when the issue of biological men competing in female athletics comes up.

But here’s the truth we all need to be armed with when that day comes: Gavin Newsom has been the governor of California since 2019, which means he’s had years to enact policies that would protect women from men competing in women’s sports. And he’s never done it.

“Every time Gavin Newsom had an opportunity to do this, he chose the transgender ideology,” says Liz.

For example, in 2024, California “prohibited schools from creating policies that would require teachers or school administrators to notify parents if their son or daughter requests to identify with neo-pronouns or change their names or use the bathroom of the opposite sex or play on a girls’ sports team.”

“Gavin Newsom presides as governor of California over the California Department of Education,” and “the education code allows men to play on girls’ sports teams. Gavin Newsom has the authority and the power to stop that, and yet he didn’t,” says Liz.

Further, back in 2022, Newsom “signed a bill into law making California what he calls a ‘sanctuary state’ for transgender-identifying children.”

“The reality of his actions demonstrate without a shred of doubt that Gavin Newsom has not changed his mind on any of these issues,” says Liz. “He has had six years to protect women in sports, and he has not done it; he has done the opposite and made girls less safe playing sports.”

To hear more of Liz’s commentary, watch the episode above.

FBI reassigns agents involved in kneeling PR stunt for George Floyd protests

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has reportedly reassigned agents who were mocked by critics as “Kneel Team Six” during the contentious protests after the death of George Floyd.

A photograph of about a dozen FBI agents joining the kneeling protest against racial discrimination angered many who believed it was inappropriate for law enforcement officials to endorse the Black Lives Matter movement. The image shows the mostly female agents among a number of demonstrators.

‘The FBI is supposed to be the top legal arm in this country, and here they are in the midst of the country burning down, in front of everybody’s eyes, kneeling in solidarity with the rioters.’

Five years after the photo surfaced in 2020, the agents have been reassigned, according to a CNN report.

The reassignments are viewed as a demotion by others in the bureau.

The FBI declined to comment and cited a policy against discussing personnel matters, and the agents did not respond to requests from CNN for a comment.

A former FBI official told CNN that the disciplinary action shows that the Trump administration is ignoring standard procedures in order to punish workers out of political motivation.

“This notion that the bureau would go after these people, it’s just disgusting,” the former official said.

In October, a report from the Heritage Oversight Project found evidence suggesting that the FBI had downplayed their support for the kneeling agents and tried to characterize the incident as an attempt at de-escalation.

The report found that the agents were rewarded with “gift cards, rewards, promotions, all praise from the tippity-top of the brass,” according to Mike Howell, executive director of the Oversight Project.

“Think about how outrageous that is. The FBI is supposed to be the top legal arm in this country, and here they are in the midst of the country burning down, in front of everybody’s eyes, kneeling in solidarity with the rioters,” said Howell.

‘Nakedly racist’ new film: Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ inspires Karmelo Anthony defenders

The debate surrounding Karmelo Anthony has predictably erupted into one of race, with Anthony’s supporters painting the victim, Austin Metcalf, as the perpetrator because of the color of his skin.

“We don’t actually know what Karmelo Anthony was thinking, but the narrative that they’re presenting is that, ‘Well, Austin Metcalf is a representative of whiteness, and if he’s a representative of whiteness, then all of the sins of whiteness, all of this slavery, systemic oppression, cultural hegemony, and all of these things are a part of Austin Metcalf’s fault,’” Jack Posobiec tells Jason Whitlock on “Jason Whitlock Harmony.”

“This is, as you always say, this is the idea of collective justice and collective guilt, which is not biblical. It is not Christian. This is a very primitive version of thinking. This is the way the world was — it was tribal — right before Christ came along,” he continues.

And that’s exactly what a new film by Ryan Coogler called ‘Sinners’ does — sends us back to a tribal world where black people and white people only saw each other for the color of their skin.

“What does that do? That divides people,” Posobiec tells Whitlock. “I guess that’s good for donations, right, in the same way that in ‘Sinners,’ it’s good for the box office.”

“But you know what? It’s bad for the country, and unfortunately it’s going to create more Austin Metcalfs,” he warns.

“I’m interested in what Hollywood is targeting at young black people,” Whitlock chimes in, adding, “I found this movie ‘Sinners’ to be the most nakedly racist movie that I’ve ever seen. That’s my takeaway, and it’s akin to ‘Birth of a Nation.’”

“We’ve listened to black people and black historians talk about the evilness of ‘Birth of a Nation’ and what it did,” he continues. “And I don’t disagree with them. It was programming and propaganda.”

“But this is the most nakedly racist. This movie ‘Sinners’ says white people are the devils. It’s as if Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam wrote this movie in 1930,” he adds.

‘Finish the kids’: Father slits wife’s throat and threatens family massacre, but heroic 10-year-old girl saves siblings

A heroic 10-year-old girl in Oregon thwarted a possible family massacre by her father after he had already slit the throat of the mother of his children, according to authorities.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement that police responded to multiple reports that there was a disturbance at a home in Gresham, Oregon, on June 7, 2021.

‘The victim’s young daughter showed bravery and resilience that truly inspires us to work hard every day to interrupt the cycle of abuse and to keep families safe.’

Police said Jesus Huchin-Interian began fighting with the mother of his children after accusing her of cheating on him.

The daughter told police that her father threatened the mother that he was going to “finish her” and then “finish the kids.”

Huchin-Interian then physically attack his wife and slit her throat, according to police.

The 10-year-old daughter jumped into action to protect herself and her younger siblings.

“The 10-year-old reported that she grabbed a knife herself and tried to stab the defendant, but the knife was too dull, so she dropped it and ran to her room with her little siblings and locked the door,” according to the press release from the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.

Once barricaded in the bedroom, the young girl called 911 for help.

The father reportedly fled the crime scene after the daughter notified the police.

Once the father left the home, the daughter allegedly emerged from her room and began giving life-saving aid to her mother, who survived her horrific injuries.

“When police arrived, they found the victim ‘lifeless,’ face down in a pool of blood, with a deep 8-inch cut to her neck,” according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.

Meanwhile, Huchin-Interian was on the lam for years after the alleged attempted murder.

Law enforcement did not track down and arrest Huchin-Interian until March 2024, when he was located in San Francisco, California.

Huchin-Interian accepted a plea deal from prosecutors just days before his trial was set to begin.

On April 18, Huchin-Interian pleaded guilty to a charge of assault in the second degree constituting domestic violence.

The father will serve a prison sentence of at least 70 months, followed by three years of supervised release.

Huchin-Interian will be sentenced on April 28.

Multnomah County Senior Deputy District Attorney Robin Beck Skarstad — who prosecuted the case for the state — said, “This case underscores the devastating impact domestic violence has on children in the home. The victim’s young daughter showed bravery and resilience that truly inspires us to work hard every day to interrupt the cycle of abuse and to keep families safe.”

Atlanta Falcons fined hundreds of thousands of dollars over humiliating phone prank on Shedeur Sanders

An embarrassing phone prank on a prominent football player during the National Football League’s draft led to a large fine against the Atlanta team and one of their coaches.

The football player draft picks were overshadowed by the drama surrounding Shedeur Sanders, the son of the former superstar athlete Deion Sanders. He was projected by some to go early in the first round, but his jubilation turned to dread as he was overlooked until the sixth round on the third day.

‘We were proactive in addressing the situation internally and cooperated fully with the league throughout the process.’

Video then surfaced on social media that showed a group of college students pranking Sanders by calling him and pretending to be the coach of the New Orleans Saints. Sanders was led to believe that he was being drafted on the second day, before they hung up and admitted the prank.

Many wondered how the students were able to obtain Sanders’ phone number on such a pivotal day.

On Wednesday, the NFL said that Jeff Ulbrich, the Falcons’ defensive coordinator, was being fined $100,000 over his involvement in the incident, and the team was fined $250,000.

The team had admitted on Sunday that Sanders’ number had been obtained by Ulbrich’s son, a 21-year-old college student, after he saw the contact information on his father’s iPad. He provided it to a friend and was seen in the background of the video of the prank.

The team responded to the fines with a brief statement.

“We appreciate the NFL’s swift and thorough review of last week’s data exposure and the event that transpired due to it,” read the statement from the Falcons. “We were proactive in addressing the situation internally and cooperated fully with the league throughout the process, and accept the discipline levied to Coach Jeff Ulbrich and the organization.”

Jax Ulbrich also publicly apologized to Sanders in a post on Instagram.

“I’m so sorry I took away from your moment, it was selfish and childish,” he wrote. “I could never imagine getting ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life and I made a terrible mistake and messed with that moment. Thank you for accepting my call earlier today, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.”

Sanders was chosen 144th overall by the Cleveland Browns.

Even President Donald Trump jumped into the debate and called the owners of the NFL teams “stupid” for snubbing the player despite his “PHENOMENAL GENES.”

Sanders had been ridiculed by many online for organizing a lavish party, along with his personal branding and a ritzy handmade diamond-studded necklace in anticipation that he would be picked far earlier in the draft.

No peace for Republicans? Democrat fans flames for Summer of Love 2.0

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, who is unsurprisingly a Democrat, called for mass protests against President Donald Trump during a speech in New Hampshire this week.

Pritzker complained in his speech that the president and the individuals “he has elevated” are “an affront to every value this country was founded upon.”

“Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption — but I am now,” he said, adding, “These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. They have to understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have. We must castigate them on the soapbox and then punish them at the ballot box. They must feel in their bones … that we will relegate their portraits to the museum halls reserved for tyrants and traitors.”

Blaze Media D.C. correspondent Christopher Bedford isn’t shocked, but he is more than a little disturbed.

“You have folks like Governor Pritzker over in Illinois, who’s just a wild man. I mean, it’s kind of insane to see somebody that wealthy attacking Trump for being wealthy, when he’s a governor himself,” Bedford tells Jill Savage on “Blaze News Tonight.”

“But that’s the way he operates. And he’s out there now saying, ‘We need to have resistance 2.0. There can be no peace for Republicans. They must be investigated. They must be harassed in the streets. They must be impeached,’” he continues.

“I think what we’re starting to see is Democrat frustrations bubbling over, but I don’t see any appetite for it in the streets. I just don’t. It doesn’t seem like the summer of riots that they’ve had in the past,” he adds.

However, that could change.

“As one reporter I was talking to earlier today said, ‘Seems like the United States is always one particularly grizzly police shooting away from that sort of thing changing,’” Bedford says, adding, “but right now those Democrats who are trying to just relive and run a sequel, it’s going straight to home video. It’s not even coming to theaters.”

Tim Walz nailed with brutal mockery after saying he was chosen for VP to ‘code talk’ to white guys

Kamala Harris’ former running mate, Tim Walz, revealed that he was chosen for the 2024 Democrat presidential ticket so that he could “code talk” to white guys.

The bizarre admission was mocked to oblivion online after the Minnesota governor made the revelation during an interview at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics on Monday.

‘There are so many white guys in this country to choose from and she picked flamboyant femme Elmer Fudd.’

“I knew I was on the ticket, I would argue, because we did a lot of amazing progressive things in Minnesota that improved people’s lives, but I also was on the ticket, quite honestly, you know, ’cause I could code talk to white guys watching football, fixing their truck, doing that,” said Walz to some laughter from the audience.

“That I could put them at ease. I was the permission structure to say, ‘Look, you can do this and vote for this,’ and you look across those swing states — with the exception of Minnesota, we didn’t get enough,” he added.

Walz was mocked and ridiculed by those who found it ludicrous that he was chosen as outreach to white males.

“Because nothing screams blue-collar masculinity like Tim Walz — who looks like he calls AAA when the check engine light comes on,” said Texas Rep. Wesley Hunt (R).

“If Tim Walz was brought onto the Kamala Harris campaign to ‘cold-talk [sic] to white guys,’ then it’s puzzling why they muzzled him from doing interviews for most of a 107-day presidential race,” responded pollster Frank Luntz.

“There are so many white guys in this country to choose from and she picked flamboyant femme Elmer Fudd,” read another response.

“Hahahahahahaha that’s why only gay white men and single mother wine alcoholics liked them,” said another critic.

“It was, frankly, just too much testosterone in one man for many of us to handle,” joked John Ekdahl.

“This was a bit of a category error by Harris. Tim Walz did speak to white guys, but only flamboyant heterosexuals such as myself,” joked anonymous online personality Jarvis Best. “On the one hand, I was flattered — you don’t see too many of us flamboheteros on the national stage. But I understand why he didn’t move the needle.”

Walz made headlines in March after he publicly cheered the slide in Tesla’s stock value before getting obliterated by Elon Musk on social media.

Here’s the video of the comments from Walz:

Secretary Rubio drops hammer on reporter asking about El Salvador and Abrego Garcia

Secretary of State Marco Rubio made it clear he does not believe the judicial branch of the federal government is in control of a president’s foreign policy when he was asked about Kilmar Abrego Garcia during a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Wednesday.

“Have you been in touch with El Salvador about returning Abrego Garcia?” the reporter asked.

“Well, I would never tell you that. And you know who else I’ll never tell? A judge. Because the conduct of our foreign policy belongs to the president of the United States and the executive branch, not some judge,” Rubio replied.

“So we will conduct foreign policy appropriately, if we need to, but I’ll never discuss it. And no one will ever make us discuss it because that’s how foreign policy works,” he added.

As time has gone on, the ‘Maryland man’ narrative has taken a significant hit.

— (@)

The Democrats’ fight to return Abrego Garcia, who was in the U.S. illegally, has not slowed down even though his plight is no longer the top issue. Some congressional Democrats are planning trips to El Salvador to continue their pressure on the government there. While some reports claim House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) wants to end trips to the Central American country, others claim he is not discouraging Democrats from going there.

As time has gone on, the “Maryland man” narrative has taken a significant hit, as it has been revealed that Abrego Garcia was accused multiple times of domestic violence from his wife, who sought protective orders from a court. In a protective order she filed in 2021, his wife claimed to have videos of his violence against her and that she is afraid to be around him.

When it comes to his alleged membership in MS-13, the New York Post obtained court documents from 2018 showing that Abrego Garcia’s wife’s ex-partner claimed he feared for the lives of the two children he shares with her because she was dating someone in a gang. Edwin Trejo Ramos made the allegation in a petition filed in Prince George’s County Circuit Court to seek an emergency court hearing on the custody of the couple’s children.

3 Democrats ask to be removed from resolution to impeach Trump

Three Democrats have asked to be removed from a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump, in a sign that the out-of-power party is retreating from the strategy against the president.

Democrats have had to conjure up asymmetric attacks on Trump after a disastrous election in which they lost control of the U.S. Senate and the Oval Office and only slightly dented Republican control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

That leaves Thanedar with only one member supporting his resolution.

Despite some very early efforts to mount a campaign to impeach the president, three Democrats have abandoned the cause for now.

Democrat Rep. Shri Thanedar of Michigan proposed an impeachment with seven articles that included bribery, corruption, and “tyrannical overreach.” Despite existing for only a few days, the impeachment has already lost support from Democrat Reps. Kweisi Mfume of Maryland, Robin Kelly of Illinois, and Jerry Nadler of New York.

On Tuesday they officially requested their names to be taken off the impeachment proposal, and the House clerk granted their request.

A spokesperson for Mfume said he removed his support because of a mistaken assumption about the proposal.

“Congressman Mfume removed himself as a co-sponsor from H. Res. 353 because he was made aware it was not cleared by Democratic leadership and not fully vetted legally — and he preferred to err on the side of caution,” said the spokesperson.

A spokesperson for Kelly had a similar comment.

“The Congresswoman was under the impression that the resolution was drafted and reviewed by both the House Judiciary Committee and leadership when she originally signed on during a vote series on the floor,” read the statement.

That leaves Thanedar with only one member supporting his resolution, Democrat Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois.

Thanedar said he would persist nevertheless.

“I cannot speak for the actions of other members. But I am doing this because Trump has blatantly violated the Constitution,” he said in a statement to The Hill.

House Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Pete Aguilar of California said that Democrats would not back the proposal because there was no support from Republicans.

“We don’t have any confidence that House and Senate Republicans would do their jobs. And so this is not an exercise that we’re willing to undertake,” said Aguilar.

Trump celebrated 100 days of his second term on Tuesday.

World Economic Forum regular Mark Carney’s win energizes Canadian secessionists in Alberta

In addition to unlawfully declaring martial law to crush a peaceful protest, Canada’s Liberal government has in recent years overseen a historic growth of the federal deficit, numerous tax hikes, an unprecedented influx of immigrants, a spike in illegal immigration, rising crime, unanswered church burnings, a worsening housing crisis, coercive medicine, the rise of state-facilitated suicide as a leading cause of death nationally, and the alienation of the western provinces.

The socioeconomic situation is apparently so dire, a recent government report detailing the nation’s “downward social mobility” noted that some residents may soon have to turn to foraging and hunting to meet basic food needs.

Canadians — not so much those in the 18-to-34 age bracket who largely voted Conservative, but those over the age of 55 — decided in the federal election Monday to award the same Liberal government another four years. They may have done so at the risk of ultimately losing one or a couple of provinces.

‘Large numbers of Westerners simply will not stand for another four years of Liberal government.’

The success of the Liberals — now under the leadership of Mark Carney, the self-identified “European” World Economic Forum regular who all but guaranteed British economic decline while governor of the Bank of England — has breathed new life into the Alberta secessionist movement.

Preston Manning, former leader of the Reform Party of Canada and a former leader of the opposition in the House of Commons, noted ahead of the election, “On account of the mismanagement of national affairs for the past decade by the Liberal government, and its consistent failure to address those issues of greatest concern to Western Canadians, large numbers of Westerners simply will not stand for another four years of Liberal government, no matter who leads it.”

“The support for Western secession is therefore growing, unabated and even fueled by Liberal promises to reverse many of their previous positions. Such promises of expediency simply don’t ring true in the West,” continued Manning. “Who, except the most politically naive, would believe Mark Carney’s promises to reverse the Liberal positions on everything from east-west pipelines to identity politics and climate change, when standing behind him is a cabinet of 23 MPs who, just a month ago, were advocating for the very opposite and have done so for years?”

The former opposition leader noted further that while the bottom-up support for western secession is currently centered on the oil-rich prairie provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, “it has the potential to spread to most of B.C., Manitoba, and the adjacent territories depending on how it is organized and led.”

A day after the federal election, Alberta lawmakers introduced legislation that would make it easier to start a referendum, including one on separating from Canada, reported CityNews.

The bill lowers the threshold for a citizen-led referendum from 20% of eligible voters to 10% and affords campaigners 120 days rather than 90 days to secure signatures.

‘Now is the time to end the abusive and toxic relationship with Ottawa.’

“I believe in Alberta sovereignty within a united Canada,” said Alberta Premier Danielle Smith. “However, there is a citizen referenda process that if citizens want to put a question on a ballot and get enough of their fellow citizens to sign that petition, then those questions will be put forward. Again, I don’t want to prejudge what a question might be.”

While Smith is apparently not a separatist, Alberta — home to the fourth-largest proven oil reserves in the world — has its fair share who might vote to leave.

When pollsters from the Angus Reid Institute asked Albertans whether they would vote to leave Canada if the Liberals were to form the next government, 30% of respondents said yes. Notably, even more Saskatchewan respondents — 33% — expressed interest in leaving the federation behind.

Cameron Davies, the leader of the Republican Party of Alberta, formerly the Buffalo Party of Alberta, is reportedly planning hundreds of town halls to seize upon this discontent and to promote secession.

“After decades of attempts at reconciliation with the rest of Canada, now is the time to end the abusive and toxic relationship with Ottawa and the east that we find ourselves in today,” Davies told CityNews.

Davies, a former organizer for Smith’s party who also spent five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, told Ricochet, “I am shocked, actually, by the number of people that I’ve had conversations with — at town halls, coffee meetings, dinner parties — that have said, ‘I’ve never thought myself a separatist, but I think that might be our only choice left.'”

“In the last couple dozen events that we’ve conducted — low-key organizing, having interesting meetings with diverse groups across the province — the party’s membership has exploded by an additional 8,000 in the last three and a half weeks. And that’s without a lot of effort,” added Davies.

While the future of Davies’ party is uncertain, it’s abundantly clear from Monday’s election results that there’s no love lost for the Carney Liberals in Alberta.

With 172 seats required for a majority, the Liberal Party came out on top with 169 seats and 49.3% of the vote. Conservatives, lead by Pierre Poilievre, lagged behind by nearly 480,000 votes, netting 144 seats and 42% of the total vote.

‘Threatening to leave the country because you don’t get your desired electoral outcome is counterproductive and unpatriotic.’

Urban hives and regions heavily reliant on the government for jobs or welfare apparently skewed Liberal. Rural, industrial, and younger areas of the country appear to have picked the Conservatives.

The Conservatives netted 91.9% of the vote in Alberta, the province with the youngest population. The Liberals alternatively brought in a measly 5.4%.

Premier Smith said in a statement Tuesday, “A large majority of Albertans are deeply frustrated that the same government that overtly attacked our provincial economy almost unabated for the past 10 years has been returned to government.”

“In the weeks and months ahead, Albertans will have an opportunity to discuss our province’s future, assess various options for strengthening and protecting our province against future hostile acts from Ottawa, and to ultimately choose a path forward,” added Smith.

Former Alberta Premier Jason Kenney recently blasted those considering the path forward that leads Alberta out of Canada, telling reporters, “Threatening to leave the country because you don’t get your desired electoral outcome is counterproductive and unpatriotic. And I don’t think it’s something that should be thrown around.”

“Nor should central Canadian political elites be dismissive of the very legitimate grievances that people in the West and Alberta have about the attacks on our energy industry,” added Kenney.
