Trump to crush sanctuary cities shielding illegal aliens

President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order on Monday afternoon that would further crack down on sanctuary cities shielding illegal aliens from federal law enforcement officers.

Early Monday morning, press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced during a press briefing that the president planned to sign two new executive orders.

‘It’s quite simple: Obey the law, respect the law, and don’t obstruct federal immigration officials and law enforcement officials when they are simply trying to remove public safety threats from our nation’s communities.’

She told reporters, “Today, we kick off 100-Day Week with a focus on the president’s historic effort to secure our southern border. Later this afternoon, President Trump will sign an executive order on law and order and another executive order on sanctuary cities.”

“The first EO will strengthen and unleash America’s law enforcement to pursue criminals and protect innocent citizens,” she continued. “The second EO is centered around protecting American communities from criminal aliens, and it will direct the attorney general and secretary of Homeland Security to publish a list of state and local jurisdictions that obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration laws.”

— (@)

Leavitt slammed the Biden administration’s “awful open-border policies” for allowing over 10 million illegal aliens to “invade” the country.

During a separate news conference — the White House’s first new media press briefing — Leavitt highlighted Trump’s border accomplishments during his first 100 days and elaborated on the upcoming EOs.

She noted that between Inauguration Day and April 1, only nine illegal aliens were released into the country, “a staggering 99.99% decrease from more than the 184,000 illegal aliens who were released into the country under Joe Biden during that same period last year,” Leavitt said.

The press secretary explained that the administration would review the sanctuary city list created by Attorney General Pam Bondi and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to determine whether those jurisdictions were breaking any federal laws.

“Then, the Office of Management and Budget is going to look at their federal spending. Again, if you’re defying federal law, you are threatening your own federal spending by doing that,” Leavitt added.

Trump’s anti-sanctuary EO will also authorize Bondi to pursue potential criminal and civil suits against those who obstruct “criminal or immigration law enforcement.”

“It’s quite simple: Obey the law, respect the law, and don’t obstruct federal immigration officials and law enforcement officials when they are simply trying to remove public safety threats from our nation’s communities,” Leavitt said.

She noted that the law and order EO would ensure that Immigration and Customs Enforcement can coordinate with local law enforcement partners. It allows authorities to “pursue legal action against state or local officials obstructing criminal or immigration law enforcement,” according to a document reviewed by the New York Post.

Border czar Tom Homan joined Leavitt during the first press conference. He was asked to share his message to sanctuary communities.

“I don’t think any elected mayor, any elected governor should want public safety threats — those illegally in the United States — public safety threats walking through the community,” he stated.

Homan later told ABC News that the executive order addressing sanctuary cities is “needed.”

“Sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals,” he remarked.

Meet the illegal aliens accused of stealing DHS Secretary Noem’s purse

Two people arrested in connection with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s stolen purse are in the United States illegally and may be connected to a larger theft ring.

The first man arrested for the crime — which occurred when Noem was dining in Washington, D.C. — is Mario Bustamante-Leiva, who is originally from Chile. Before Leiva’s name was reported, D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin told the media the suspect was in the U.S. illegally.

This is not the first time Leiva has been arrested for stealing items in restaurants. The Daily Mail reported in 2015 that Leiva was charged in London, England, for stealing almost $30,000 worth of phones, laptops, and wallets over the course of several months in 2014.

‘Unfortunately, so many families in this country have been made victims by crime, and that’s why President Trump is working every single day to make America safe.’

“You are dishonest to your fingertips. Over a five-month period, you committed a series of thefts from the public, over that long period, to a total of some £21,000. … I have no alternative but to order that you be sent to prison,” the judge said when he sentenced Leiva.

It is unknown at this time how Leiva entered the U.S., but it is unlikely that he will be staying here much longer.

The second man arrested is Cristian Rodrigo Montecino-Sanzana, who is also from Chile, according to the New York Post. He was taken into custody in Miami on Sunday. Sanzana was released into the U.S. in early January 2021 despite being handed a notice of “expedited removal” due to a lawsuit which forced the federal government to release certain migrants with comorbidities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Between Sanzana’s arrest and Leiva’s criminal history, officials believe the suspects were not carrying out the alleged thefts on their own.

Martin has said there is no evidence suggesting that Noem was targeted because she is part of the Trump administration.

“Thank you to [Secret Service and ICE] and our law enforcement partners for finding and arresting the criminal who stole my bag on Easter Sunday as I shared a meal with my family at a Washington DC restaurant. This individual is a career criminal who has been in our country illegally for years,” Noem said after the arrests.

“Unfortunately, so many families in this country have been made victims by crime, and that’s why President Trump is working every single day to make America safe and get these criminal aliens off of our streets,” she added.

ICE, Florida officers nab nearly 800 illegal aliens in ‘tidal wave’ dragnet

President Donald Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested nearly 800 illegal aliens in just the first four days of its multiagency Florida operation.

On Saturday, ICE shared news of the massive ongoing crackdown effort dubbed “Operation Tidal Wave.”

‘They encountered these criminal aliens out and about during their regular duties, and they’re able to go ahead and identify those public safety threats for us.’

“In a first-of-its-kind partnership between state and federal partners, ICE Miami and Florida law enforcement arrested nearly 800 illegal aliens this week during the first four days of #OperationTidalWave — a massive, multi-agency, immigration enforcement crackdown,” ICE wrote in a post on social media.

— (@)

Fox News’ Bill Melugin revealed additional details about the raids, noting that agents arrested a convicted murderer and gang members.

Jose Sanchez Reyes, a Colombian national, was reportedly arrested by ICE. He was previously convicted of homicide in Colombia.

Rafael Juarez Cabrera, a Guatemalan national, was also arrested. He illegally entered the U.S. several times and is reportedly a known MS-13 gang member.

Melugin reported that ICE nabbed Savva Klishchevskii, a Russian national who currently has an Interpol Red Notice for alleged vehicular manslaughter.

Aron Isaak Morazan-Izaguirre, a Honduran national, was detained as well, according to Melugin. He is a suspected 18th Street gang member.

“Operation Tidal Wave is still ongoing, as Florida continues to partner tightly with ICE to cooperate with and enhance the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda,” Melugin wrote.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) responded to Melugin, stating, “Operation Tidal Wave is an example of FL and [Department of Homeland Security] partnering to deliver big results on immigration enforcement and deportations.”

“Florida is leading the nation in active cooperation with the Trump administration for immigration enforcement and deportation operations!” DeSantis said.

According to the New York Times, ICE arrested “about 780 immigrants” during the first several days of the operation, which began last Monday.

Operation Tidal Wave targeted those with final deportation orders, an ICE official told the news outlet. Over 275 of the illegal aliens had final removal orders.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told ABC News that the operation was significant “because it’s the first of its kind.”

“We have surged all our federal partners together along with Homeland Security Investigations and Enforcement [and] Removal Operations, which are all the enforcement arms of ICE, but we’re also using all our 287(g) partners in the state of Florida. We’re using state, local, and county law enforcement agencies to assist us in our operations,” Lyons explained.

The Immigration and Nationality Act Section 287(g) authorizes ICE to delegate state and local law enforcement to perform certain immigration enforcement functions. Newsweek reported that nearly 230 Florida law enforcement agencies have 287(g) agreements with ICE.

“So this is one of the first large-scale missions we’ve done like this ever,” Lyons told ABC News. “We brought a ‘whole the government’ approach with cooperative jurisdictions that want to help ICE secure communities in neighborhoods and remove public safety threats from our neighborhoods.”

“State troopers, local police officers, county sheriffs — they’re our eyes and ears,” he continued. “They encountered these criminal aliens out and about during their regular duties, and they’re able to go ahead and identify those public safety threats for us.”

ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan told ABC News that the federal agency’s partnerships with local law enforcement agencies will continue.

“We’ve seen historic partnerships with the state of Texas that has been going on and being able to expand. We’ve seen historic partnerships in Virginia as well as many other states that are coming to the table, even states that you wouldn’t necessarily always think of as border states,” Sheahan stated.

NFL star Saquon Barkley shoots down insufferable backlash after playing golf with Trump

NFL champ Saquon Barkley defended his interactions with President Donald Trump after receiving criticism from online scolds. The Philadelphia Eagles visited the White House on Monday, but Barkley arrived early to meet the president and hit some golf balls.

On Monday, the Super Bowl champ posted the following on social media: “lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT. Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand.”

‘Trump is not a normal president. Get a f**king grip you idiot.’

Barkley played golf with the president at Trump National at Bedminster in New Jersey over the weekend and faced backlash from those who oppose Trump and his political policies.

“Just golfed with Obama not too long ago,” he added, “and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have [an] amazing day.”

The anti-Trump critics continued assailing Barkley despite the statement.

It was bad optics. He was invited. He went. It was his choice. Those who pay attention know Trump hurts the disadvantaged, and eliminates DEI, and ignores the right of due process. Those who care now know Barkley doesn’t,” responded photographer Frank Mitman.

“You’re literally being obtuse as to why people are upset. Trump is not a normal president. Get a f**king grip you idiot,” replied another critic.

“Would you laugh and joke about playing golf with Hitler?” said an account identifying as Democrat.

“I accept that some people are rich enough to be buffered from the consequences of Trump’s policies, but don’t f**king lie in our faces when we get annoyed that you’re out there fondling his wrinkly nutsack that you just ‘respect the office,'” read one descriptive criticism.

Others criticized Barkley by pointing out that he is engaged to a white woman.

The superstar running back was pivotal in Philadelphia’s resounding victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl by a score of 40 to 22.

Delta passengers hold up collapsing ceiling mid-flight for more than 30 minutes

Passengers were forced to hold up a portion of a plane’s ceiling after it collapsed during a flight from Atlanta to Chicago.

Delta Flight 2417 passengers were given an unfortunate task on April 14 when they were forced to hold up ceiling panels of the aircraft for what was described as 30 to 45 minutes.

Tom Witschy, a 35-year-old from Chicago, told People that during takeoff he and another passenger heard a sound they assumed was a “bag banging against the overhead bin.”

However, shortly after takeoff, the sound became a loud banging noise before a “panel of the plane came off, crashing down, nearly hitting an older woman” who was seated in the row ahead of him. Witschy said the panel was hanging by a thread, so he grabbed the corner closest to him to prevent it from hitting his row of passengers as the plan was ascending.

“The men across from me and diagonally across did the same,” the man told the outlet. The flight crew was unable to assist at the time due to the period of forced seating during the ascent.

‘We kept holding it as they alerted the pilots and searched their inventory for tape.’

After 10 to 15 minutes, flight attendants eventually came to investigate, which led to passengers having to hold up the falling panel until a solution was found.

“We kept holding it as they alerted the pilots and searched their inventory for tape. This went on for another 30 minutes or so.”

Images from the incident showed the extent of the damage, while a TikTok video from inside the plane emerged and showed several rows of passengers with their arms extended above their heads to hold the panel up.

The passenger claimed a missing screw or bolt was the likely reason for the dangling panel, and the eventual solution was provided by the passengers themselves.

“One of the flight attendants scoured the plane until a man ahead of us offered bright yellow scotch tape he happened to have, and that’s what she and several other people used to tape it up.”

A picture of the tape job with the caption “#reassuring” was provided by People.

Delta said in a statement that the company wanted to thank its customers for their “patience and cooperation.”

“We apologize for the delay in their travels,” Delta added.

The airline said the aircraft returned to Atlanta “due to cabin maintenance,” and the flight continued after “about a two-hour delay on another aircraft.”

Days earlier, Flight 1278 from Santa Ana, California, to Atlanta reportedly suffered a similar fate when a ceiling panel fell and allegedly hit a passenger.

“Delta has been in touch with our customer to express our apologies for this rare occurrence,” the airline said at the time.

A few days prior to that incident, a different string of bad luck hit Delta passengers in Atlanta when nearly 300 people spent the night on the tarmac. As reported by Fox 5 Atlanta, passengers on two international Delta flights were diverted due to bad weather, with passengers spending the entire night on the planes.

Alleged home intruder — with reported ‘135 prior interactions’ with cops — runs into homeowner with .45 caliber handgun

An alleged home intruder — with a reported “135 previous interactions” with cops — didn’t get very far into an Indiana residence early Friday morning after the homeowner reportedly shot him in the face.

Henry County deputies at 1:45 a.m. responded to a residence after a homeowner called 911 and reported someone was trying to break into his home, Sheriff John Sproles told WISH-TV, adding that the homeowner heard his dog barking and a voice outside.

The homeowner was with his wife and 3-year-old child at the time of incident.

Sproles told the station the intruder had broken two front windows and was reaching inside the home and attempting to pull the blinds down when the homeowner fired one shot from a .45 caliber handgun.

When deputies arrived, they found a man lying on the front porch with a gunshot wound to the face, WISH said.

The station added that the alleged intruder was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital, where he underwent surgery and was listed in critical but stable condition.

WISH said authorities haven’t released the individual’s identity but “confirmed he’s had 135 prior interactions” with Henry County law enforcement, “most of which were related to mental health issues.”

Sproles added to the station that the incident appears to be isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. WISH said there was not a motive for the break-in.

The homeowner was with his wife and 3-year-old child at the time of incident and is cooperating with the investigation, the station said.

“This incident highlights the dire crisis we are facing with inadequate resources to house people with mental illness,” Sproles added to WISH.

You can view a video report here about the incident.

How are people reacting?

Those commenting under WISH’s Facebook post about the incident seemed decidedly in the homeowner’s corner. The following are a few examples:

“Good guy with the ability to protect himself and his family!” one commenter wrote. “Excellent!!!”The more this happens the less they’ll even try,” another user said. “Good work, homeowner — you’re a true American hero.””Give him a medal,” another commenter declared.

Men banned from women’s competitions by UK pool association just weeks after 2 males competed in women’s final

A U.K. billiards association has reversed course and banned men from women’s competitions just weeks after two males dominated a women’s tournament.

The Ultimate Pool Group’s Women’s Pro Series Event 2 robbed headlines around the world at the beginning of April when two males met in the finals of the women’s tournament. Harriet Haynes and Lucy Smith, both males, each beat four women to reach the finals of the 32-player tournament in Wigan, England. Haynes was the eventual winner and was reported to have a .750 career winning percentage, while Smith had won 85 of his last 113 matches, a near identical percentage.

As of April 23 however, Ultimate Pool announced it would officially amend its eligibility rules to state that “women’s events are open only to biologically born women.”

“We respect that some people within the pool community may find the changes challenging. As an organisation, we are committed to being empathetic to all members of our community and we expect all members of our community to reflect this,” the group wrote on X. “In recognition of the challenges that some members of our community may face we have partnered with Omnia Health Group to offer support to anyone who feels they might benefit from it.”

— (@)

‘Female players have unique disadvantages compared to male players …’

On its website, the organization said it had reached its conclusion due to two factors. The first was a commissioned report that concluded there are indeed “biological differences between women born as women and transgender women” and that pool is a “gender affected sport.”

“… Female players have unique disadvantages compared to male players and … transgender women retain male advantages.”

The second factor was the recent decision by the United Kingdom’s Supreme Court, which clarified the definition of a woman from the U.K.’s 2010 Equality Act.

“This examination of the language of the EA 2010, its context and purpose, demonstrate that the words ‘sex,’ ‘woman’ and ‘man’ in sections 11 and 212(1) mean (and were always intended to mean) biological sex, biological woman and biological man,” the court said.

Ultimate Pool stated that the ruling had brought the organization “clarity” and further decided that “trans women cannot take part in women’s sport.”

The governing body therefore concluded that males would not be eligible for women’s pool events and are not eligible to be selected for international events in the female category.

The next UPG event, for women only (for real this time), takes place May 23-25.

Wide receiver slaps fan in the face in humiliating video, sparking investigation

Wide receiver Samson Nacua was captured on camera slapping an opposing team’s fan following a loss.

A UFL game between the Michigan Panthers and the St. Louis Battlehawks generated buzz for all the wrong reasons after the game when a Panthers player got into it with a fan. Inside the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, the Battlehawks had just beat the Panthers 32-27 when Nacua was seen in a video mid-altercation with a St. Louis fan who was leaning over the railing of the stands.

As the fan leaned closer and Nacua inched toward him, the wide receiver flinched once before he reached up and slapped the fan across the face. Receiver Adonis Alexander was also seen standing nearby; he pointed and laughed at the fan before a Panthers staff member got between him and the fan.

The video was widely circulated online and in one instance on X was seen about two million times.

The UFL later released a statement saying the incident was under investigation.

“The UFL is aware of the incident that took place last evening at the conclusion of the Michigan Panthers vs. St. Louis Battlehawks game in St. Louis. League officials are currently investigating the matter,” the league said, per ESPN.

The fan’s name is currently unknown, and there are no known social media posts or public comments from him regarding the incident. Neither the UFL nor the Panthers have provided additional commentary on the matter regarding punishments to the player.

The 27-year-old receiver is the brother of 23-year-old NFL receiver Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams. Puka is a Pro Bowl player and considered one of the best up-and-coming receivers in the league.

A third Nacua brother also plays for the UFL’s Panthers, Kai Nacua, who plays safety.

Samson has seven catches for 117 yards and one touchdown this season in the UFL. He attended Utah and BYU in the NCAA and reportedly tried out for the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints in the NFL.

Texas vs. the Cartel: The DEADLY border showdown

Many small towns in Texas have been overrun by illegal immigrants under the Biden administration — but under Trump that’s hopefully all about to change.

“There was a sigh of relief in Texas when it at least came to the border, because we knew we weren’t going to have to fight our own federal government when it came to actually enforcing the laws,” Greg Sindelar, CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, tells James Poulos of “Zero Hour.”

While it’s been “very overwhelming” for these small towns, Sindelar notes that it was the “system working as designed.”

“So Texas had to jump in. We spent billions and billions and billions of dollars trying to just stem the tide a little bit, but what we learned from that is Mexico is not a good faith actor in this, and I’m talking about the government of Mexico,” he explains.

“And I know they’re very upset by the president saying that they are tied to these cartels. Well, I’m here to tell you they are, at this point, mostly a failed narco state. They have seeded 30% to 40% of their land to these cartels,” he continues, adding, “they let them run anything that they want to do.”

“It’s absolutely horrific what is happening, and the Mexican people are suffering because of it, and Texans and Americans are also suffering because of it,” he adds.

This is why it’s not only important for America to crack down on cartel activity as Trump has promised but Mexico as well.

“Our futures are intertwined,” Sindelar tells Poulos. “If we can’t get Mexico back into being a functioning state again, then we will continue to have these problems, and we’ll continue to pour an immense amount of money and lose an immense amount of American lives until they get their act together.”

Leftist Gov. Pritzker says ‘Republicans cannot know a moment of peace,’ wants ‘mass protests,’ ‘mobilization,’ ‘disruption’

Illinois Democrat Gov. J.B. Pritzker declared Sunday that “Republicans cannot know a moment of peace” and called for “mass protests,” “mobilization,” and “disruption” against the administration of President Donald Trump, the Hill reported.

During his keynote address at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner, Pritzker added that “they have to understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have. We must castigate them on the soapbox and then punish them at the ballot box.”

‘We will never join so many Republicans in the special place in hell reserved for quislings and cowards. We will relegate their portraits to the museum halls reserved for tyrants and traitors.’

Pritzker’s words seemed eerily reminiscent of other prominent leftists during Trump’s first term in office. Who can forget when far-left U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) encouraged her supporters during a June 2018 speech to harass members of Trump’s administration?

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up, and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere!” Waters hollered.

Indeed, harassment followed, and attacks on conservatives got physical too. Remember, also, that Hillary Clinton piled on, saying “you cannot be civil” with Republicans. Former Attorney General Eric Holder said, “When they go low, we kick them!” and far-left U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) urged activists in Washington, D.C., to “go to the Hill” and “get up in the face of some congresspeople.”

More recently, Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York said — in reference to the Trump agenda — his party is “going to fight it in the streets.”

A WBBM-TV video report about Pritzker’s speech said the New Hampshire 100 Club Dinner is “usually reserved for those about to run for president” and that Pritzker was “sounding like a 2028 presidential candidate.”

The keynote speaker at the state’s 100 Club Dinner last year was Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz, who ran with Kamala Harris on the 2024 Democrat presidential ticket, the Hill said.

Pritzker also criticized members of his own party, saying “do-nothing Democrats want to blame our losses on our defense of black people, of trans kids, of immigrants, instead of their own lack of guts and gumption,” the outlet reported.

Although Pritzker conceded that while Democrats “may need to fix our messaging and strategy, our values are exactly where they should be,” The Hill said.

The Illinois governor added, “We will never join so many Republicans in the special place in hell reserved for quislings and cowards. We will relegate their portraits to the museum halls reserved for tyrants and traitors,” the Hill also said, according to multiple national outlets.

Dem governor denies directing state employees to break federal law to protect illegal aliens

Democrat Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers’ administration issued guidance on April 18 directing state employees not to immediately cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or other federal agents.

The day the guidance went out, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan allegedly helped a previously deported illegal alien facing three misdemeanor counts of battery get away from immigration officials following his pretrial April 18 appearance in her courtroom. Dugan has been charged with two federal felony counts: obstructing or impeding a proceeding before a department or agency of the U.S. and concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest.

In the wake of Dugan’s arrest by the FBI, Evers apparently felt that critics’ suggestion that his administration instructed state employees to violate federal law was “crap.”

“That’s what they would say no matter what,” Evers told WISN-TV. “We’re not encouraging them to break the law. In fact, one of the things that ICE is arresting people for, we’re seeing all that, frankly, is not law-breaking. And then what do you do? So I think having caution right up front, I think, is important.”

The guidance issued by Evers’ Department of Administration provided state workers with instructions on what to do if ICE ever showed up to their office.

‘It is absolutely insane for Governor Evers to order state employees to ignore federal law enforcement.’

After asking for the agent’s name, badge, reason for showing up, and supporting documentation, the guidance instructed state employees to call their office of legal counsel and speak directly with an attorney. If an attorney is unreachable, then state employees were told to ask the federal agent to come back at another time.

The guidance contains a list of prohibitions:

“Do not answer questions, including when an agent asks about someone you know or presents a warrant with an individual name.”
“Do not give the agent access to any paper files or computer systems without speaking to your attorney, including when the agent presents a warrant.”
“Do not give your consent for the agent to enter into a non-public area.”

Anne Hanson, deputy secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Administration, noted in a corresponding letter to state employees, “While we hope it won’t be necessary to put this guidance into practice, please do your part to be prepared.”

Republican lawmakers and other critics noted at the time the guidance was issued that it would lead to trouble.

Rep. Tony Wied (R-Wisc.) said, “It is absolutely insane for Governor Evers to order state employees to ignore federal law enforcement. Wisconsinites want a secure border and they deserve a Governor that prioritizes their safety and wellbeing over illegal aliens.”

‘It’s clear that Tony Evers is a Wisconsin Last governor.’

“Tony Evers is now directing state employees to not cooperate with federal law enforcement,” wrote Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wisc.). “Instead of obstruction, our governor should respect the law and work with federal law enforcement to secure our border and protect our communities.”

Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wisc.) alerted Attorney General Pam Bondi to the guidance, writing, “Tony Evers is at it again. Now, his administration is ordering state employees to block ICE from doing their job. Wisconsin deserves better.”

Wisconsin state Rep. Amanda Nedweski (R) wrote, “Between this and his promise to veto GOP legislation that would get violent illegal immigrants off our streets, it’s clear that Tony Evers is a Wisconsin Last governor.”

“The very fact that Tony Evers is instructing his employees to either break federal law or not cooperate with law enforcement is a new low for Tony Evers,” Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R) said during a news conference last week, reported Wisconsin Public Radio. “Now he’s telling every single state employee to ignore a warrant. It’s really embarrassing.”

Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police President Ryan Windorff stated, “Wow, Governor Evers, stellar plan! Instructing state employees to blow off federal agents, even with a warrant in hand, is next-level brilliance. Why bother with federal law when you can nudge your workers toward violating 18 U.S.C. § 111?”

“Nothing says ‘great leadership’ like hanging your employees out to dry for your political flex. Slow clap for Wisconsin,” added Windorff.

‘They run the show.’

Evers suggested to WISN that hamstringing federal efforts to find and deport illegal aliens is necessary to prevent Wisconsin from becoming a “shadow of the state we are right now,” noting that Wisconsin farmers presently “have all sorts of undocumented people.”

“I don’t think we are going to stop ICE from doing whatever they’re going to do, absolutely not. But we want to make it fair for the people that, our employees, I think it’s important they have access to an attorney just for that exchange between ICE and one of our employees,” continued Evers.

Fresh off embarrassing himself both trying to handle a football and trying to replace the word “mother” with “inseminated person,” Evers added, “We’re not taking any rights away from ICE. They run the show.”

While keen on protecting foreign nationals who illegally stole into the homeland, Evers claimed in an April 25 statement bemoaning Dugan’s arrest that he has a “deep respect for the rule of law,” as well as for the “efforts of law enforcement to hold people accountable if they commit a crime.”

Trump DOJ takes aim at Wikipedia’s tax-exempt status over alleged violations, ‘propaganda’

The Trump administration is working to ensure that institutions granted federal funding and tax-exempt status are compliant with federal law and policy.

Shortly after putting woke medical journals that receive funding from the National Institutes of Health on blast over their alleged bias, Edward Martin Jr., the Trump-appointed U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, announced an investigation into Wikipedia.

Martin noted in an April 24 letter obtained by the Free Press that “Wikipedia, which operates via its fiscal sponsor, the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc., is engaging in a series of activities that could violate its obligations under Section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the United States Code.”

The statute cited by Martin holds that tax-exempt organizations must be:

organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, testing for public safety, literary, or educational purposes, or to foster national or international amateur sports competition (but only if no part of its activities involve the provision of athletic facilities or equipment), or for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals.

The IRS law notes further that tax-exempt organizations are not to “carry on” propaganda, attempt to influence legislation, or “participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.”

Martin suggested that the Wikimedia Foundation, through Wikipedia, “is allowing foreign actors to manipulate information and spread propaganda to the American public,” and is “permitting information manipulation on its platform, including the rewriting of key, historical events and biographical information of current and previous American leaders, as well as other matters implicating the national security of the United States.”

‘Most readers assume Wikipedia is a reliable online encyclopedia, but in reality, it has become a biased platform.’

Blaze News previously reported that editors at Wikipedia, whose parent company spent nearly 30% of its 2023-2024 budget on DEI programs,

tried to hide Vice President JD Vance’s military accomplishments in the lead-up to the 2024 election;
strategically eliminated any mention of Kamala Harris’ appointment as border czar on the site’s list of executive branch czars;
advocated deleting the entry detailing the mass killings executed by communist regimes, citing an anti-communist bias;
blacklisted right-leaning sources such as Blaze News, the Washington Free Beacon, the Federalist, RedState, the Media Research
Center, and the Alexander Hamilton-founded New York Post and effectively prohibits their citation in articles, all but guaranteeing a site-wide leftist bias;

smears right-wing figures;
labeled Elon Musk’s temporary suspension of journalists who allegedly violated his platform’s terms of service as the “Thursday Night Massacre”; and
deceived readers about the history, existence, and nature of cultural Marxism, characterizing the well-defined and well-chronicled offshoot of Marxism as a “conspiracy theory.”

A 2024 study published in Online Information Review found that Wikipedia suffers a “significant liberal bias in the choice of news media sources.”

Wikipedia — which still claimed at the time of publication that COVID-19 lab leak “explanations are not supported by science” — has not only been criticized for being a repository of leftist propaganda but for its alleged “widespread antisemitic and anti-Israel” content.

While previously silent on the suppression of conservative voices, Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League — whose censorious outfit Wikipedia categorized as an “unreliable source” last year — stated last month that “most readers assume Wikipedia is a reliable online encyclopedia, but in reality, it has become a biased platform manipulated by agenda-driven editors on many topics.”

The ADL alleged that a group of at least 30 editors “acted in concert to circumvent Wikipedia’s policies to introduce antisemitic narratives, anti-Israel bias, and misleading information.”

Martin, who has reportedly been aiding the Justice Department’s Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism, noted in his letter, “Masking propaganda that influences public opinion under the guise of providing informational material is antithetical to Wikimedia’s ‘educational’ mission.”

The D.C. attorney also took issue with Wikipedia’s apparent direction from a board “composed primarily of foreign nationals, subverting the interests of American taxpayers.”

Martin indicated that his office has received information that “demonstrates that Wikipedia’s informational management policies benefit foreign powers.”

‘The public is entitled to rely on a reasonable expectation of neutrality, transparency, and accountability.’

Martin expressed additional concern about the amplification of the leftist and foreign propaganda on Wikipedia, noting that search engines such as Google have prioritized Wikipedia results, and AI platforms train their large-language models on Wikipedia data.

The Department of Justice has requested that the Wikimedia Foundation provide information by May 15 concerning its policy and operations, including what:

safeguards it has in place to both protect the public “from the dissemination of propaganda,” and to fulfill its legal and ethical obligations as a tax-exempt organization;
actions the foundation takes when confronted with editor misconduct and/or coordinated efforts to “use editorial or administrative authority to systematically distort content”;
the foundation does to ensure editorial transparency and accountability;
steps the foundation has taken to counter foreign influence operations;
efforts are taken to ensure a broad spectrum of viewpoints are represented, even if at odds with institutional backers; and
third-party entities the foundation has contracted with to use, redistribute, or process Wikipedia content.

“As a nonprofit corporation, which is incorporated in the District of Columbia, the Wikimedia Foundation is subject to specific legal obligations and fiduciary duties consistent with its tax-exempt status,” wrote Martin. “The public is entitled to rely on a reasonable expectation of neutrality, transparency, and accountability in its operations and publications.”

Although it did not acknowledge Martin’s latter, the Wikimedia Foundation claimed in a statement obtained by the Washington Post that Wikipedia’s content was governed by policies that ensure information is presented as “accurately, fairly and neutrally as possible.”

“Wikipedia is one of the last places online that shows the promise of the internet, housing more than 65 million articles written to inform, not persuade,” said the statement. “Our vision is a world in which every single human can freely share in the sum of all knowledge.”

WATCH: Glenn Beck RAGES over WaPo ‘dictator’ hit piece on Trump

Glenn Beck just returned from Washington, D.C., where he interviewed President Trump about his first 100 days in office.

One of the subjects they discussed was Trump’s Oval Office renovations, specifically the gold that’s been brought in. Since his inauguration, he’s added gold vermeil figurines, medallions, and decorative objects on the fireplace mantel, gold eagles on side tables, gilded Rococo mirrors above doors, and gold cherubs in pediments, among other accents.

Some have speculated that his redecoration symbolizes the golden age of America, which he’s promised to usher in. Others assume it’s hinting at economic policies, like a return to the gold standard.

But of course, the radical left is using Trump’s affinity for gold to bolster the “dictator” narrative.

“The sparkle conveys something more than insidious about how Trump views himself. Behold the new Sun King, the wannabe emperor who views his powers as absolute,” Glenn reads from a recent Washington Post article.

Or “he loves gold,” laughs Glenn, who can’t believe the lengths to which liberals will go to hold on to their “Trump’s a dictator” narrative.

“[Loving gold] is the thing he was most famous for before he was president,” adds co-host Stu Burguiere.

Further, unlike a dictator, Trump is “spending his own money” to make these upgrades.

The Post article also cited Trump’s decision to display paintings of former presidents as evidence that he’s aiming to be the Sun King.

“If you were a dictator, why would you put all of the other presidents?” Glenn aks.

When he spoke with President Trump during the interview about these renovations, the truth behind the gold and the paintings became evident.

He said to Glenn, “This is is the most important office in the world, and all of these people come from their big huge palaces and their big huge rooms of power that are gilded and have all of these paintings, all of the old trappings of power,” and “I want them to understand that this is the same kind of power, except it’s a new power and a power beyond their understanding.”

“He is doing this to the Oval Office not to become a dictator, not to signal anything to America, but to signal something to all of the dignitaries that come into that office and sit in those chairs,” says Glenn. “That’s exactly what the Oval is supposed to do. … The whole point of that office is to project power to the world, not to the citizen.”

The Washington Post is “so full of bullcrap, I can’t take it,” he lambastes. “He’s signaling to the world! You [Washington Post] people are so caught up in your own self-righteous, dim-witted, overeducated bullcrap that you can’t get beyond yourself” to see that Trump is a master “negotiator.”

While Glenn can’t reveal everything he and President Trump discussed because of an NDA he signed, he promises that in the near future, we will see just how generous and how unlike a dictator our president really is.

“Every American should be grateful for what he is spending his money on and doing, and you will know more about that in the coming months. You will be shocked at some of the things that he is just saying, ‘I’m just going to write a check and do it.”’

To hear more of Glenn’s analysis, watch the episode above.

Tom Homan declares deportations are moving ‘full speed ahead’ as catch-and-release is ‘over’

Border czar Tom Homan made it clear that not only has the Trump administration deported more illegal aliens than the Biden-Harris administration, but the plans to conduct mass deportations are well under way, as shown by recent operations across the nation.

Homan said during a White House press briefing on Monday morning that because tens of thousands of people are no longer illegally crossing the southern border, more resources can be spent on interior enforcement.

“[ICE agents] are removing public safety threat and national security threats every day. While you are sleeping at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning, there are men and women out there enforcing the law and making this country safe again. And we’re going to keep doing it, full speed ahead,” Homan said.

Homan is planning on traveling to Rochester, New York.

Homan pointed out that the reason why it appears the Biden-Harris administration deported more illegal immigrants is that former officials counted removals at the northern and southern borders as a “deportation,” while interior deportations dropped to their lowest levels in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement history. Because the country’s borders are no longer overwhelmed, all the deportation numbers today are from the interior of the United States.

— (@)

Homan explained the reason why the Biden-Harris administration released millions of illegal immigrants into the United States: Officials were selling out the country for “future political power.”

“The law clearly says if you arrive without proper document, you shall be detained. Not maybe or not thinking about it — shall. And that’s what President Trump is doing. Catch-and-release is over. That’s what the law says, and that’s what we’ve done,” he continued.

As part of the White House’s victory presentation about ending the acute border crisis, yard signs lined the White House driveway showcasing just some of the illegal immigrants who have been arrested and deported under the second Trump administration.

— (@)

Homan is planning on traveling to Rochester, New York, to show support for law enforcement after the sanctuary city punished city officers for assisting federal immigration agents. The local officers apparently responded to a call for help from federal agents during a stop.

‘ARRESTED’: White House lines lawn with mug shots of 100 alleged illegal alien criminals

The Trump administration lined the White House lawn with roughly 100 mugshots of alleged illegal alien criminals.

Late Sunday evening, the White House staff placed the yard signs on the lawn. The posters featured photos of alleged illegal immigrants accused of serious criminal offenses, Axios reported.

— (@)

Each poster read “ARRESTED,” followed by “illegal alien” and the crime the individual was accused of committing.

Some of those alleged offenses included distribution of fentanyl, murder, kidnapping, rape, and numerous sexual crimes against children.

‘White House lawn looks a little different this AM.’

The signs did not include the names of the individuals. However, the Trump administration issued a press release on Monday morning that listed the illegal aliens and their alleged crimes.

“This morning, images of the worst of the worst criminal illegal immigrants arrested since President Donald J. Trump took office were placed on the lawn of the White House for the world to see — highlighting the Trump Administration’s unprecedented effort to secure our homeland and send these vicious criminals back where they belong,” the press release read.

Jhamaal Benjamin, 51, made the top of the administration’s list. The Jamaican national was reportedly arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement this month. His criminal record includes convictions for first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree assault in Maryland.

ICE also arrested Rasmane Sankara, a 49-year-old Burkina Faso citizen, this month. He holds a previous rape conviction in New York.

Apolinar Islas Hernandez, a 43-year-old Mexican national, was picked up by federal immigration officials this month as well. He was convicted of murder and aggravated battery in New Mexico.

White House officials noted that the yard signs were strategically placed along Pebble Beach, a spot on the north grounds where media crews broadcast live shots.

Political commentator Rogan O’Handley, known online as DC Draino, reacted to the administration’s move, calling it “brilliant.”

“Now these posters will be in the background of every news hit,” he stated.

During an early Monday morning press briefing, one legacy media journalist questioned border czar Tom Homan about the signs, calling them “heinous.”

“What is some of the feedback that your ICE agents are getting in the field from the community as they remove these individuals from their families, their neighborhood, their schools, all the places in their community?” the reporter asked.

Homan responded that the ICE agents’ morale was at an “all-time high.”

“I hear it all the time. There’s a lot of people in this country that don’t like me. I don’t care. When I walk through an airport, I have many people walking up to me and thank me for what I’m doing. And I’m not taking credit for anything. The success of the border and immigration enforcement, it’s President Trump and the men and women wearing the uniform. God bless each and every one of them,” he stated.

An administration official told Axios, “You can expect the White House to tout the many promises made on the campaign trail that have been fulfilled in the president’s first 100 days.”

Kaelan Dorr, a White House spokesperson, shared a photo of the posters on social media.

“White House lawn looks a little different this AM,” Dorr wrote. “And they say yard signs don’t win elections…”

Military members swept up in raid of shady club teeming with illegal aliens, MS-13 and TDA gangsters

Hundreds of federal agents descended upon an allegedly illegal nightclub in Colorado Springs early Sunday morning, resulting in the detention of more than 100 illegal aliens.

At around 3:45 a.m., officers with the Drug Enforcement Administration and at least nine other federal agencies raided the club, located inside a strip mall. Prior to forcing their way in, they announced via loudspeaker in both English and Spanish that they had a warrant and demanded that all occupants exit the building in an orderly fashion.

In all, more than 200 people were inside, and 114 were arrested for alleged federal immigration violations, the DEA said. Most of the illegal immigrants came from Central and South American countries, and all are now in ICE custody.

‘It’s obviously concerning to have active-duty military involved.’

Jonathan Pullen, the special agent in charge at the DEA Rocky Mountain Division, indicated to reporters that federal and local agencies had spent months investigating a maelstrom of unsavory behaviors going on inside the “underground, illegal” nightclub.

“What was happening inside was significant drug trafficking, prostitution, crimes of violence,” Pullen said. “We seized a number of guns in there.”

Pullen also noted that known members of violent gangs like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua were likewise at the club that night, though whether any of them were arrested is unclear.

“Only those here illegally or those on warrants were taken into custody. Most partygoers were eventually released,” the DEA noted on social media, along with pictures of several attendees who made questionable clothing choices that night.

“We’re not the fashion police,” the agency joked.

Active-duty service members were rounded up at the club, however, and some of them even allegedly abetted the illegal activity.

“We had active-duty service members who were running security at the club and involved in some of these crimes,” Pullen claimed. “It’s obviously concerning to have active-duty military involved.”

Fort Carson, an Army base, is located in Colorado Springs. The Army confirmed that some members had been at the club that night and that it would partner with the DEA in conducting an investigation, ABC News reported.

“As this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to provide additional information at this time,” a spokesperson for the Army Criminal Investigations Division told CNN.

Whether any of the service members have actually been arrested or charged with a crime is unclear.

Thankfully, no agents were injured during the raid, though one partygoer apparently sustained life-threatening injuries jumping through a window in an attempt to escape.

‘Colorado without question has been a hub for illegal immigration due to the sanctuary policies of the city of Denver.’

President Donald Trump celebrated the news of the raid on Truth Social: “A big Raid last night on some of the worst people illegally in our Country — Drug Dealers, Murderers, and other Violent Criminals, of all shapes and sizes.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi likewise expressed satisfaction about the success of the operation: “This morning @DEAHQ apprehended over 100 illegal aliens at an underground night club frequented by Tda and MS-13 terrorists. Cocaine, meth, and pink cocaine was seized. 2 people were also arrested on existing warrants.”

State and local officials likewise gave at least tepid support for the enforcement of alleged weapons and drug offenses, though some sidestepped the immigration issues involved.

Colorado Springs Police Department Chief Adrian Vasquez noted that the raid was the result of a “months-long” investigation into “serious criminal activity.” “Arrests for these criminal violations are expected,” he stated.

Vasquez also emphasized that his department focused solely on “criminal violations affecting the safety of our community” since it “is not authorized to conduct immigration enforcement under Colorado law.”

Mayor Yemi Mobolade, who was briefed on the raid before it occurred, was likewise circumspect in his language.

“Let me be clear: Criminal activity of any kind, from anyone, will not be tolerated in Colorado Springs. This investigation and the execution of these warrants are the result of clear evidence of serious criminal conduct,” Mobolade said.

A spokesperson said that Colorado Democrat Gov. Jared Polis “is focused on making Colorado safer for everyone, and that includes cracking down on illegal drugs and firearms. We await the details from the DEA and federal government on this action.”

Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly touted his office’s “support role” in some of the drug and weapons operations, KDVR said, then took aim at the sanctuary policies that have allowed illegal immigration to fester in the state.

“Colorado without question has been a hub for illegal immigration due to the sanctuary policies of the city of Denver in conjunction with radical legislation (including this session) from the State Capitol affirming Colorado’s sanctuary status,” Weekly said.

“As the Sheriff of Douglas County, I will do everything I can within Colorado law to support our federal partners. This, in turn, helps keep my community safe.”

Mike Moon, who owns the property where the club was operating, by contrast, expressed “shock” at what had apparently been going on under cover of darkness. “It’s pretty shocking, considering our political environment and all the news that’s happening around the country, that they thought that this was even a wise idea to do something illegal like this,” he said.

Moon added that the underground club is a violation of the terms of the lease agreement and that the property does not have a liquor license. However, the apparently derelict tenants were expected to be out of the building by the end of the month anyway.

Whitlock: Shedeur Sanders has daddy issues

Conversations about whether Shedeur Sanders is being helped or hindered by his legendary father, Deion Sanders, are circulating throughout the sports world.

Jason Whitlock argues that Deion is an obstacle for his son. The main reason why is that Shedeur “didn’t get pushed out of the cocoon” and likely never will.

“There is a process of maturation; there’s a process of development where a boy becomes a man and he gets pushed out of the cocoon,” says Jason.

For most boys, they get pushed out of the cocoon after high school graduation. They go off to college or to the military, and a few years later they “come back as a man.” But that wasn’t the case for Shedeur.

“Deion, out of his own desires, never gets his son out of the cocoon. He actually uses his son … to get a job at Jackson State University and then uses his son and Travis Hunter to get a job at Colorado,” says Jason, adding that Shedeur has suffered the consequences of his father’s actions.

Now that he’s headed into the NFL, people are asking: “How’s he going to handle not having his dad around?”

Given that Shedeur has “never been coached by anybody but his father” and is already “worth millions of dollars,” it’s looking like trouble is brewing.

“His dad’s personality is the personality of a defensive back or a wide receiver, not the personality of a quarterback, and his dad, being one of the greatest players and now being a somewhat successful college coach, will have real strong opinions, credible opinions, on how we’re developing and using his son,” says Jason.

He knows that Deion won’t hesitate to “inject [himself]” into matters involving Shedeur. As he’s “one of ten greatest football players of all time” and “someone with access to a platform to go at you or expose you,” this creates a “nightmare scenario.”

Any team Shedeur plays for will be subjected to Deion’s opinions and power.

If that wasn’t a big enough headache, any team Shedeur plays for will also have to contend with the lack of humility and deep-rooted insecurities he’s inherited from Deion.

“Deion calls himself Coach Prime, and he pretends to be this hyperconfident person, but he’s not, and he’s given his son the same radical materialism, the same insecurity,” says Jason.

To hear more of his analysis, watch the episode above.

Ex-teacher allegedly ‘confessed to inappropriate conduct with high school student’ at her home ‘on multiple occasions’

A former Texas teacher was arrested for allegedly having “inappropriate conduct with a high school student,” according to police.

KTXS-TV reported that 25-year-old Lily Victoria Janek was arrested at her home in Brownwood on Wednesday. She was charged with an improper relationship between an educator and a student. Janek’s bond was set at $50,000.

‘While we are sickened by the conduct of this former employee, we know that this incident is not a reflection of the many exceptional educators teaching in classrooms across the district.’

Janek had been employed as a teacher and a coach for the Mullin Independent School District.

The Brownwood Police Department said in a Thursday statement that law enforcement was tipped off in November 2024 about a “possible improper relationship between a student and educator.”

Detective Peyton Donahoo claimed Janek “invited the student to her home in Brownwood, where it was alleged that sexual activity occurred” on “multiple occasions.”

Police said the accusations were “confirmed during subsequent interviews with Janek and others associated with the report.”

The school district said in a Wednesday statement that “today, a former Mullin ISD employee was arrested for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with one of our students.”

“The district had been notified on Friday, April 4, 2025, that a Mullin ISD employee had confessed to inappropriate conduct with a high school student,” the statement read. “After receiving the letter from law enforcement, we reported the employee’s conduct to Child Protective Services, suspended the employee, banned her from all school property and school-related activities.”

On April 7, the board of trustees voted to terminate the employee, the school district said.

The district added that the superintendent filed a report with the Texas Education Agency about the teacher’s alleged inappropriate conduct with a Mullin High School student.

The school district noted that it was “fully cooperating” with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, and the Texas Education Agency.

“While we are sickened by the conduct of this former employee, we know that this incident is not a reflection of the many exceptional educators teaching in classrooms across the district,” the Mullin Independent School District stated. “We are committed to supporting the students and families impacted and ending the school year strong for all of our children.”

The school district offered additional counseling services to anyone affected by the alleged conduct of the former teacher through the school psychologist, as well as through the Texas Child Health Access through Telemedicine.

‘Are they STUPID?’ Trump mocks NFL owners for not picking Shedeur Sanders in first round of NFL Draft

A star-studded NFL Draft left viewers shocked when Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL great Deion Sanders, went unselected in the widely televised first round.

The massive event outside Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, featured thousands of fans in attendance and celebrity appearances. The draft even kicked off with former Green Bay Packers star Clay Matthews reading an alleged letter from President Trump.

On stage, Matthews opened an envelope and said, “So let me tell you what it reads here, all right? It says, ‘My fellow Americans, the Bears still suck!'”

It turned out, however, that the president was watching and was not exactly happy with how things turned out. As Colorado’s Sanders remained undrafted, Trump took to Truth Social on day two of the NFL Draft to voice his displeasure with NFL owners.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” Trump wrote. “Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be ‘picked’ IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”

Sanders was eventually selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns and took to his own social media to write, “Thank you GOD.”

The young quarterback did not let his emotions get the best of him, even though he seemingly had every right to.

Sanders was expected by most to be a first-round draft choice; the athlete even had an entire set and draft party set up in anticipation of that fact. The set featured a shelf of prospective teams’ hats, an interview area, and customized everything.

To make matters worse, Sanders was the victim of a prank draft call; the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich admitted to taking the players’ number off an open iPad belonging to his father and using it to pose as the New Orleans Saints general manager in a call to Sanders.

Unfortunately, this is is quite common, and multiple players said they had received prank calls about being drafted, according to ESPN.

— (@)

Why did it take so long?

Sanders was expected, at worst, to be a second-round pick. However, ESPN’s Pete Thamel said that most teams did not think of him as a first-round talent and did not think he had NFL rhythm.

“They wanted to see him more throwing in rhythm,” Thamel said. “They wanted to see him show a little bit more athleticism. He’s considered a mediocre athlete who didn’t have enough film that they thought immediately translated.”

CBS Sports NFL reporter Jonathan Jones said, though, that Sanders “sandbagged” several of his NFL interviews. Jones claimed that Sanders “did not give it his all” in meetings with teams he did not think would draft him, which “rubbed some teams the wrong way.”

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero echoed similar sentiments and said an NFL assistant coach told him that Sanders conducted “the worst formal interview” he had ever witnessed in his life.

“He’s so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. … But the biggest thing is, he’s not that good,” Pelissero relayed, per Yahoo Sports.

Female Black Hawk pilot didn’t follow orders before horrific crash: Report

An Army VH-60M Black Hawk helicopter on a training exercise collided with a PSA Airlines plane operating an American Airlines flight near D.C.’s Ronald Reagan National Airport on Jan. 29. Sixty-seven people were killed, including three Army soldiers, 60 airline passengers, and four airline crew members.

As emergency responders futilely searched the frigid Potomac River for survivors, questions began to proliferate about how such a crash was possible, especially when Black Hawk helicopters routinely operate flights in the highly controlled air corridor around the airport without incident. Many suspected human error — and when the Army initially refused to name the female Black Hawk pilot, some critics hypothesized that DEI hiring practices might be indirectly at fault.

On the basis of government documents, interviews with relevant experts, and audio recordings of the air traffic controllers leading up to the collision, the New York Times delineated the “missteps” that led to the fatal January crash in a damning report on Sunday.

‘PAT two-five, do you have the CRJ in sight?’

It turns out that Captain Rebecca Lobach — the doomed helicopter’s pilot whose name was withheld at the outset — failed to heed her instructor’s orders moments before flying into the inbound jet, and there is no indication she was suffering any health issues that may have been to blame.

The liberal publication appeared keen to displace the reason for the crash across multiple factors and mistakes, noting, for instance, that:

the relevant tower controller was working double duty;
the controller was unable to watch the helicopter’s
movements in real time via the Automatic Dependent
Surveillance-Broadcast Out because the confidentiality of the Army aircraft’s mission precluded the use of the system;

the controller made the uncustomary decision of asking the ill-fated jet to land at Runway 33, one of the airport’s ancillary runways;
the vertical distance between the landing slope for a jet making its way to Runway 33 and the maximum permissible altitude for a helicopter along the route taken by the doomed Army aircraft would be a measly 75 feet;
the helicopter was flying well over the mandated maximum altitude;
the Army crew may have failed to catch a critical piece of information provided by the tower;
the helicopter crew requested, then bungled a “visual separation” exercise, where the “pilot is meant to see neighboring air traffic, often without assistance from the controller, and avoid it by either hovering in place until the traffic passes or by flying around it in prescribed ways”; and
the tower’s alleged failure to notify both aircraft they were on a collision course.

Lobach, the highest-ranking soldier on the helicopter but far from the most experienced pilot aboard, was behind the controls as the helicopter neared the airport.

Cockpit voice recordings revealed that sometime after assuming control, Lobach announced an altitude of 300 feet. Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Lloyd Eaves, her instructor, responded within a space of 39 seconds that they actually had an altitude of 400 feet — not only double the maximum height permissible near Runway 33 but 100 feet over the altitude mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration for that part of the route.

The Times indicated that as the helicopter approached the Key Bridge, from which the Army aircraft would head south along the river, Eaves indicated the helicopter was at 300 feet and descending to 200 feet.

Eaves apparently saw the need to repeat his instruction, telling Lobach that the chopper was at 300 feet and needed to descend.

‘It could have well changed the outcome of that evening.’

While Lobach reportedly said she would comply, over two and half minutes later, she still had the helicopter at an altitude of over 200 feet — “a dangerously high level” according to the Times.

Moments later, the tower notified the Army crew that the inbound jet was “circling” to Runway 33 — a piece of information investigators believe was missed because someone aboard the helicopter was allegedly holding down the microphone key to speak, thereby blocking incoming communications.

Roughly two minutes before the collision, Eaves noted, “PAT two-five has traffic in sight.” He then requested and was granted visual separation.

Nearly 20 seconds before impact — as doomed Flight 5342 made its turn toward Runway 33, flying at roughly 500 feet and now within a mile of the helicopter — the tower asked the Army crew, “PAT two-five, do you have the CRJ in sight?”

There was no response from the Black Hawk.

The controller then told the helicopter crew to “pass behind” the airplane, but Lobach kept flying directly at the inbound jet.

Two seconds after the controller’s “pass behind” directive, Eaves said, “PAT two-five has the aircraft in sight. Request visual separation.”

Inside the helicopter, Eaves told Lobach 15 seconds before the collision that air traffic control wanted her to turn left, toward the river — which would open more space between the Black Hawk and the jet, now at an altitude of approximately 300 feet.

Lobach reportedly did not heed the instruction, thereby guaranteeing the deaths of 66 people and herself.

At the time of the collision, one air traffic controller can reportedly be heard in a recording taken at the time saying, “Crash, crash, crash, this is an alert three.”

“I just saw a fireball, and then it was just gone,” said a controller. “I haven’t seen anything since they hit the river, but it was a CRJ and a helicopter that hit. I would say maybe a half-mile off the approach end of 33.”

Brig. Gen. Matthew Braman, the Army’s director of aviation, told the Times, “I think what we’ll find in the end is there were multiple things that, had any one of them changed, it could have well changed the outcome of that evening.”
