Eagle Pass resident caught smuggling illegals in South Texas

An armed human smuggler and a group of illegal aliens were arrested following a dangerous vehicle pursuit and bail-out in Texas near the southern border, authorities say.

The harrowing incident unfolded in Maverick County on February 3, but the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) just released footage and details over the weekend.

TxDPS troopers attempted to pull over a suspicious SUV on FM-1588 near Eagle Pass when the driver suddenly took off at high speed.

The driver eventually turned off the highway and brought the SUV to a stop before he and his passengers fled on foot.

Dashcam footage shows the driver reaching into his waistband as he exits the vehicle, presumably handling a firearm which was later found by TxDPS troopers.

“The smuggler, Jose Cortes from Eagle Pass, stopped and bailed out towards a neighborhood. Multiple illegal immigrants bailed out and ran in different directions,” TxDPS explained on social media.

“After a short chase, Cortes was arrested and charged with evading arrest, unlawful carry of a firearm, resisting arrest, failure to identify, and smuggling of person.”

Additionally, four illegal aliens from Mexico were apprehended and turned over to U.S. Border Patrol for processing.

Chaos unfolds constantly along the U.S.-Mexico border, as Infowars regularly reports.
