Soldier reveals US Army is charging him for equipment he was ordered to leave behind.

A US Army soldier exiting the military filmed his frustration as he was informed he’d have to foot the bill for equipment left in Afghanistan during the botched withdrawal in 2021.

In the footage going viral on social media, the 82nd Airborne Division soldier, identified as “Michael” on his name tape, revealed it’s his “gear turn-in day” and that he’s being charged thousands of dollars by the Army for equipment he was told to leave behind.

“Two years ago, my unit deployed to Afghanistan for the Afghanistan withdrawal. We spent a few weeks over there. It was hectic. It was chaotic. It was disgusting, and it made me very disappointed in our government. Today, I’m reminded of how disappointed I am in our government.”

Soldier finally wakes up one day to realize that his military hates him and that his Government used him while at the same time holding nothing but contempt for the people he wanted to serve and protect.

A live red pill.

“Go to turn in my gear, [and] they want to charge me five hundred to a thousand dollars for gear that I was ordered to leave in Afghanistan two years ago,” he said, adding, “because as the last two birds were sitting on the tarmac ready to leave there wasn’t any room for extra gear extra weight. Therefore, we were told to leave it.”

The soldier mentioned he and other “lower-enlisted dudes” questioned the orders, aware of the fact the gear was very expensive.

“We’re like no this stuff is expensive. I’m not leaving this, I’m gonna get charged for this when it comes time to leave,” however, he was reportedly told, “Don’t worry. We’re gonna catch you on the back end.”

It turns out the soldier was correct, as years later upon his equipment return he was handed a bill for over $3,500.

The soldier expressed the incident forced him to realize the federal government cares less about its soldiers than it does the American people and other foreign interests.

“Meanwhile, we can continue to give millions of dollars to the Taliban. We can give billions of dollars to Ukraine. We can give billions of dollars to student debt relief. We can give a bunch of stupid stimulus checks. We can cut those to the American people, but we can’t cover $500 to $1,000 for a dude that left gear in Afghanistan. For a dude that left gear in a place that you put me to begin with.

“The government is so stinking backwards right now,” he continued.

“Man this administration…the last priority is the American people and [aside from] the American people, their last priority is their soldiers. Their Marines. Their airmen. Their Navy. So messed up man.”

The soldier added he believed he’d feel sadness in returning his old equipment, but that the emotion had instead been replaced with resentment.

“I thought today was gonna be bittersweet getting out, but I’m just so happy to separate. I’m very very excited to stop serving my government and just get started serving my country.”

Concluding the video, the soldier corroborates his story by showing a document listing the missing equipment and charges totaling up to $3,561.26.

Will other soldiers soon come forward with similar stories?

The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, where 13 US service members lost their lives, occurred during Biden’s first year in office, signaling the chaos that would be the hallmark of his presidency.
